Monument Hotel

We enjoyed a fantastic stay over the holiday. The hotel is lovely & charming and all the staff are very friendly. The hotel’s location on Passeig de Gracia is exceptional. We appreciate the reception is setup with chairs to sit down comfortably during check-in (and check-out). It is easy and fast to go up to your room via the beautiful stairs or the 2 elevators. We stayed in both the Suite Passeig de Gracia and Suite Monument for our family of 3. The hotel provided a small rollaway bed both times in the living room space. The slightly larger size of the Suite Passeig de Gracia is much better to accomodate the rollaway bed. We also preferred the main bathroom configuration in the Suite Passeig de Gracia. Both suite types have a small 1/2 bathroom which was extremely useful to have for a family of 3. The HVAC system worked very effectively. The beds were comfortable but one area of improvement would be the king bed pillows - the set of pillows are too soft & thin, we would have loved more plush & firm pillows. The hotel gym is a small room on the rooftop next to the pool; there were 2 machines & one workout bench and barbells that topped out at 25kgs. If the hotel has the opportunity to find a larger space for the gym in the future, it would be better. It would not bother me if the gym is not on the rooftop. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious with an order menu that covered all the breakfast standards. Though the buffet breakfast spread was on the smaller side in terms of variety. We feasted on a delightful New Year’s Eve dinner in the spacious hotel lobby restaurant (formerly Oria) that will change in 2026. It will be a fascinating surprise to see what it will become. We hope to return to the Monument hotel in the future and be able to enjoy a family meal at Lasarte. We hope to see the same friendly faces again.

We had a truly wonderful three-night stay at the Monument Hotel and would return in a heartbeat. From the moment we arrived as a family of five, the team made us feel incredibly welcome, upgrading us from a Family Suite to an even larger suite and greeting the children with sweets and a little tour of the room, which set the tone for the whole stay. The thoughtful touches for my husband’s 50th birthday were especially appreciated – a chilled bottle of cava waiting in the room and a beautiful chocolate dessert made him say he felt like he’d been treated like a king the entire time we were there. Our suite was beautiful, with five balconies overlooking Passeig de Gràcia, giving us fabulous views of La Pedrera and the sparkling Christmas lights along the avenue, which made the evenings feel really magical. The location could not be better, right on Barcelona’s most elegant shopping street and an easy walk to many of the city’s main sights, so it worked brilliantly for a family city break. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with excellent quality ingredients and plenty of choice, and it was a real pleasure to linger over coffee while looking out onto the city. All of the staff we encountered were warm, professional and genuinely keen to make our stay special, which made the hotel feel both luxurious and relaxed. All in all, this was a really memorable visit and one of the best hotel experiences we have had as a family – highly recommended for a special occasion or a treat in Barcelona.

One of the best hotels in Europe, especially if you travel as a family with kids. They will treat your kid as a king or a princess :) and make your stay very memorable and stressfree

An amazing hotel right in the center of beautiful Barcelona. The rooms and service were exceptional. The hotel bar is one of the nicest I've ever been to and the care and innovativeness that the bartenders show makes this a must if you stay. It's a great location for most of the tourist locations-- either a walk or short cab, and is close to the airport. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!
