Nobu Hotel Barcelona

We had higher expectations of this 5* hotel. We were disappointed. Room was very small, bathroom ok, but sink was tiny and awkwardly positioned. And no toilet brush. Electronic curtains did not properly open or close - had to call maintenance twice. Breakfast was a bit of a scramble: too many people in too small a space. Breakfast food ok. The rooftop bar was closed for private functions for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed: this was really annoying as it is heavily advertised on their website as the highest bar in Barcelona. Not much good if you can’t experience it. Overall we came away thinking we would be unlikely to stay in a Nobu hotel again. The Nobu restaurant was pretty good though.

Our agent at the front desk, Tara amazing and very professional. Full of knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area. Will definitely recommend my friends and family to stay here.

This is a tough review to write because overall we had a great time in Barcelona, the hotel had some really good qualities - clean, modern, nice roof top bar, and great restaurant (truly 5-Star Nobu)/breakfast, etc. and the staff was great, but it did fall a bit short. We were there as part of a pre-cruise program sponsored by Regents Seven Seas cruise line. But the first thing that was a disappointment and a bit of a deal-killer: The "standard" rooms don't have a desk. NO DESK. Unacceptable for a hotel that is supposedly top tier. Where do you work? Where does a woman put on make-up? I mean, please. The room needs a desk. When we found this out, we upgraded to a room with a desk. The desk was nice, and the room was very comfortable and large, but it was a $135/day upgrade. For a desk. Next issue: Nice bathroom and nice shower - except: no shower door. Is this an "in" thing in Europe. I don't know. But forget the rain shower head. Unless you just use the handheld (and use it carefully), the bathroom gets flooded with water. Very Bad. The lights. After 4 days we barely could figure out how to run the lights. How about an instruction card for us mere mortals? Last (and actually least), the Espresso machine: When we finally found the on-off switch it was fine. How about an instruction card for that as well? Overall, had a great time in Barcelona, the hotel was "fine", and the Nobu Restaurant in the Hotel is about the best dining experience we've ever experienced - so even if you do not stay at the hotel, be sure to eat at the restaurant. But for the hotel to cost what it did, "fine" doesn't cut it and the shortcomings listed would prompt me to stay elsewhere next time.

Run away! This hotel lets its employees steal your belongings from your room and then takes no action. The receptionist tells you to wait while they review the security cameras. Once you've left the hotel and gone home, they tell you they can't do anything, that no one did anything. Yet €400 disappeared from my closed jacket, even though it was left in the room. The atmosphere is appalling; be extremely careful with your belongings. This is truly unacceptable for a hotel. I have never had such a terrible experience in any hotel in the world. My advice: if you stay at this hotel, go directly to the police if you have any problems because they protect their employees and won't help you. Their attitude is truly unbelievable and outrageous.
