We cannot recommend this hotel and staff highly enough. From the warm welcome at Reception (thank you to Constatin and Camile) to the housekeeping staff. All are extremely helpful and attentive. The wonderful room (1043) was spacious for more than 2 people and the furnishings in excellent condition. The bathroom is fully stocked with the amenities you might need and a generous supply of towels. There was a slight issue with the air conditioning in our room but once reported to reception an engineer attended within minutes - and managed to resolve the problem. Over breakfast when staff learned about my husband’s birthday they organised a couple of glasses of sparkling wine and a cake. If this treat were not enough, Constatin and the team arranged for a surprise cake and bottle of wine in our room. It is this wonderful attention to detail that sets this hotel and staff apart from many others we have visited. If there were a slight criticism it would be about the breakfast experience. There is an abundance of choice at the buffet and it is also possible to order food from a menu which includes a choice of eggs. Unfortunately it can take some time for your order to arrive (40 minutes for two fried eggs). This is the one and only area where this impeccable hotel could improve but one can see it is because they are trying to accommodate two concepts at the same time. Finally, mention must be made of the unsung heroes at the hotel entrance. The door greeting staff are cheerful, helpful and friendly. They are also problem solvers. Our huge thanks to Anthony who assisted us when our pre-booked taxi due to take us to the airport failed to materialise. The driver was lost. Undaunted, Anthony went to find the taxi driver and directed him to us at the hotel. In summary, this hotel clearly values its guests with staff playing their part in ensuring every encounter is memorable. We will definitely return 🤗❤️

The ritz was a very nice hotel! The people were very nice at all times. The Concierge people were exceptional. Of the 4 person team two people were actually interested in working with us. Torsten and Tabea went out of there way to make our grandparent and 15 yr old grandson trip one to remember! Tours and good advice were spot on! I also learned that the Ritz Carlton Berlin treat all guests just the same. A Lifetime Titanium Elite member is treated just the same as everyone else so if you stay at a fairmont or a 4 seasons you will not loose anything. Who knew? Overall I believe that the people and the facility were exceptional. Next time I might try the Westin to see if they like Lifetime Titanium Elite members more than others.

The customer service at this Ritz, and I’ve stayed at several as a platinum Bonvoy member, was exhausting. Stay at a smaller proper for a better experience. First, housekeeping. In the course of one morning, they harassed me three times - with a 4 pm checkout. Once in my pajamas (because I had stayed out late a’la Berlin). Once in my bathrobe after my shower with a towel on my head. And once at probably 4:03 when I had my coat on and suitcase packed. The Do Not Disturb light was on each time. They rang the doorbell, and I rushed to answer. Please. Come. On. Exhausting. When I specifically said something to the front desk at checkout? No concern. (I debated even doing so, but the 4:03 really pushed me over the edge.) In fact, the young man at checkout distractedly looked down at his computer. Embarrassing behavior that you wouldn’t see at a the most basic hotel. Second, the bar. It’s just snotty. I asked for a glass of rose Veuve Clicquot. The bartender asked “what?” I said, “champagne. The rose champagne.” He snottily responded, “We have several . . .” They had one rose Veuve Clicquot, and he served up something as flat as a pancake. Not worth the trouble, so I just drank it. At the Ritz, this whole interaction shouldn’t have happened. (I’m writing this from the Hotel Aldon’s lobby bar. A wonderful experience, so far. Try there, instead. The truffle fries are absurd.) Third, check in. Please don’t inundate your American guests with talk of America. I travel overseas for a reason. I speak crappy German and try to not scream “American!” when I travel, with fanny packs, group tours, bad clothes, unwillingness to try new things, and general brashness and loudness. I sincerely try to blend in. If I wanted to talk about America, I’d be there. If you have guests who can’t stand actually being out of America, separate problem.
