Originally built in the 1930’s, SO/ Berlin Das Stue’s diplomatic legacy is evident in the heritage building’s stately architecture and modernist façade, designed by German architect Johann Emil Schaudt (1871-1957) and inspired by Danish classicism. Located in Berlin’s diplomatic quarter, Das Stue was renovated to invoke a calming ambiance, with open spaces and contemporary minimalist design. The Potsdam based firm Axthelm Architekten added a new wing on the building’s former back courtyard, which is clad in a floral patterned photo concrete surface acting as an elegant counterbalance to the rough dressed stone of the main building. While Patricia Urquiola artistically directed and designed all public spaces and fluidly integrated shared spaces such as the lobby, cocktail bar and restaurants, LVG Arquitectura finalized the interior room and suite design.

Absolutely fabulous hotel ! We loved every minute we spent there . The rooms are really nice , the breakfast is wonderful and the Michelin restaurant was so nice - not overpriced, wonderful food . The staff were all super friendly and helpful . After 4 days of tourist activity we spent the last day with a lazy breakfast , couple of bubblies in the bar ,then off to the spa … relaxing day . We rounded it off with a delightful meal at the restaurant.. perfect ! We will definitely use this hotel again when we travel ( regularly) to Berlin -I cannot recommend it enough . Thank you .

We spend 6 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed all it had to offer. The room was great, and the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is amazing, an incredible buffet! We had dinner at the restaurant and ate very well. The location is also very good. Close to the Zoo and the Tiergarten

So/Das Stue was the oasis of our dreams. The ambience elegant and upscale while comfortable and homey. The level of service was above and beyond. All of the concierges were masters at their jobs and Mattia was especially warm and professional and made sure everything was seamless for us.We were there for the Marathon and we appreciated the personal touches by the hotel for our Marathon runner.

I’ve been to a LOT of hotels in the world and this may be my favorite. Fantastic check in and amazing breakfast. Lovely staff. Delightful location— quiet and safe. Highly highly recommend. And special shout out to Joanna at check in who not only was a welcome friendly face but also an oracle as a tour guide. I’d give it six stars if I could

Really beautiful space with the most hospitable staff and a daily breakfast so epic that historians will one day write about it. Everyone there (special shout-out to Mattia, Joanna, Sam, Jana, Moises and Eric) always made sure I felt comfortable. A stay at Das Stue is truly a unique and memorable Berlin hotel experience.
