I felt like I was a guest in someone's house from the moment, I was first greeted by the doorman. This continued throughout my stay. Everyone gives you a smile and a welcome. They even remembered my name throughout my stay. I went up to my room and it was a beautifully decorated one bedroom suite. Also, the welcome cookies were great. Who could ask for anything more? I had the buffet breakfast and I definitely did not leave hungry. It was truly a five star experience and I will stay here whenever I need a room in Boston.

A lovely hotel with a quiet suite, great bed linen and indulgent bathroom all set in a decent sized room in a good central location at a reasonable price. Staff were all chatty = very enjoyable three night stay.

I love everything about the Eliot ....The personal care I receive each time I return, the attentive service and old world charm of the building are all hallmarks of what makes a place special to me. The location is excellent for walking to destinations in several directions. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast in Uni is wonderful. Mini bar, coffee station and amenities are great. 2 chocolate chip cookies as an arrival gift? so nice. The 2 other hotels I used to like in Boston have both been redone and become more "corporate". I value the beauty and charm of the Eliot even more - seeing it retaining it's historic integrity in our competetive world.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite with family from overseas. Okay, there was a stain in the carpet by the bar, but otherwise everything was perfect. The suite itself was reminiscent of the apartments at the old Claridge's. There was a foyer, a living room, bedroom with two double beds. a bedroom with queen sized bed. The rooms were all generously sized, especially the living room. The living room functioned well as a gathering place, allowing separate couples some privacy in their bedrooms. The sofa bed was comfortable, too. The bathrooms were nicely sized and well appointed. There were two small refrigerators and a small sink and bar area. Each bedroom had a walk-in closet. Staff was attentive and friendly. Noise was not a problem in spite of fronting Mass. Ave on the third floor, as the windows were triple glazed. Some minuses: the lobby is small, and the restaurant nice, expensive, and booked-up when we tried to eat there on a Sunday evening. There are many restaurants nearby on Newberry Street, however, room services could have been had. For breakfast, I would recommend the adjacent Harvard Club over the in hotel restaurant as a better deal and better atmosphere. The Clubs breakfast plates are huge.
