Hotel AKA Back Bay

I stayed at Hotel Aka Back Bay in March of 2025 during a convention in Boston. Every morning, I ordered our little crew’s breakfast and had tea while it was prepared to go. Each time I came into The Berkeley to do this, I was greeted by a server named Jaime. He was just exceptional every time he served me. He made sure everything was perfect, not just with my order but with my time spent sipping tea and working while I waited. He started and ended every interaction with a smile, and he made me feel like my little takeout and tea was just an important to him as a table for five ordering up a storm. I wrote his name down on a business card and called the hotel’s food and beverage director to sing Jaime’s praises, but I thought I’d take it one step further and post here. People are fast to offer criticism and complaints, but praise for hospitality staff can be hard to come by. If you ever find yourself at The Berkeley, ask for Jaime (HI-me). He will elevate your meal from delicious to rave worthy with his royal treatment.

Clean, modern and conveniently located hotel! Room was comfortable and had everything I needed. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Chris the doorman. Definitely recommend staying here if you visit Boston!

Great place, excellent food at the Berkeley, service is superior at all. Interesting place as a former Police Department building! Overall excellent experience, this bellman Chris is a plus, always ready to help with a smile in his face. Thanks!

This hotel was new to us (we typically stay out in Brookline) but b/c our holiday dinner reservations were in town, decided to try out the AKA Back Bay. And now IT will be our go-to for Boston stays. The terrific service started even before we arrived (when I queried whether we could make sure our room would have a couch). That need was quickly met AND we were offered a very reasonably priced upgrade to a bigger room. Our 1ast night meal in the hotel restaurant met or exceeded the other meals we enjoyed in Boston--service superb, food extremely tasty. A quick stop in the bar on Christmas Eve was equally enjoyable: holiday movies on TV, staff upbeat and happy to see us. From value to cleanliness to service: everything top-notch. And for a center-of-Bost location, can't be beat. Our stay for Christmas in Boston was one of our best ever.

As always the aka Back Bay reception staff is always outstanding. Ryan and team are exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. We only stay at aka Back Bay when in Boston, which is quite frequent, and the staff and accommodations are the reason why.
