We had a wonderful week at the AKA. Front desk staff were amazing (especially Calvin and Shirley) and they provided us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Breakfast in the hotel was great as well, including the staff! The front lobby was under renovation but had no impact on our stay. Central location for walking to many tourist activities and across the street from a subway stop when we needed it. Highly recommend!

Goddamn was Shirley was an absolute wonder to be serviced by. She courteous, friendly and her hospitality standards we beyond measure. If I am ever in the Boston area I know exactly where to stay because Shirley will always brighten up my day. More people need to be like Shirley.

The AKA Boston Common was a very comfortable stay, newly renovated, amazing location for exploring Boston! Everything was so walkable. The bed is super comfy, the eames chair is a dream. My only thing is there is no deadbolt on the door which made me uncomfortable. Also, for a true 5 star experience the staff could have been more helpful with check-in; I was clear I was open to receiving any available room, they said they would notify me when my room was ready. I decided to stop back in a little while later and ask again, turns out they did have a room and were able to check me in.

I stayed here to run the Boston Marathon. It was AMAZING. The room was stunning with big windows - the view! Wow. It was the perfect location for the marathon & the 5k. The staff - a MASSIVE thank you to Ryan for being super helpful & a total legend. I emailed from London Heathrow in a panic as we had forgotten a charger & was running the 5k in the morning & wasn’t arriving until late evening. Ryan had one waiting in the room for us! The service was out of this world - after the marathon (before I had even got back!) they had popped a certificate of completion including my time on. Such a lovely gesture. I totally recommend this hotel from a location & an all round niceness point of view!

We were in the hotel for The Boston Marathon. This was a great location - just north of Boston Common so easy access to the busses on the morning of the marathon and close to the finish afterwards. In general it’s a great location close to Boston Common and the main area of Boston and also over to Faneuil Hall near the harbour. Staff great and friendly and we had a large comfy room with city views. Asked for a kettle that they provided with tea bags. Staff also provided us with certificates of our marathon runs that they pushed through the door within hours of us finishing. Used the restaurant twice which was really good as well. Some work going on currently so lobby not available but didn’t cause any issues.
