Our Favorite Hotel in Boston.

This is our go to spot in Boston for over 15 years now! We found it years ago when our children where at BU and we have yet to find a better experience in the city thats close to where we need to be. Its convenient to the T, Fenway Park the highway and the facility and staff are excellent and well maintained. Valet parking is easy and there are plenty of food options close. We cant ask for much more when in town.

The Hotel Commonwealth staff was very helpful. They were very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable of things to do in the area. Our accommodations were well maintained. The location of the hotel was great. Quick walk to Fenway Park and the T was even closer. Restaurants there were wonderful.

Great stay in Boston

We always enjoy staying at Hotel Commonwealth. The staff is friendly, professional and very helpful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are always clean. The valet parking is very convenient. We also like the location - walking distance to Fenway, BU and many restaurants.

Nice hotel but not without a few issues.

I booked a room at the Hotel Commonwealth via Hotels.com. I chose this hotel as I was taking the family to a Red Sox game and the location cannot be beat. If you are going to a game and staying overnight, this is an ideal location. There is no self-parking so you are forced to valet. The valets were very friendly. The rest of the staff was also friendly and check in was solid. I arrived about two hours prior to the 4pm check in and they were able to honor my request for an early check in. The room we received was very nice. It was plenty big for two adults and two toddlers. It was clean and had a nice view of Kenmore. The lobby is also very clean and most folks were in Red Sox gear with the team in town. All of the above makes this hotel a solid choice. However, I did have a few issues. First, valet parking overnight is $72.00. That is steep no matter how you slice it. I knew about the price beforehand as it is located on the website, but I feel like the rate could be cheaper for an overnight guest who is already paying a not significant daily rate. That brings me to my second issue. As noted, I booked via Hotels.com and I received a quoted priced. After checking out, my room was higher than I was quoted. The extra charge was not for the valet but rather other incidental fees that evidently were not disclosed to Hotels.com. It amounted to an extra $40 or $50 dollars. There needs to be better communication as I should know exactly what the cost is going to be when I reserve a room. Lastly, the hallways leading to my room smelled like marijuana. I will admit this is a problem in many hotels in many cities, but it was unpleasant. I would definitely give the hotel another shot and I think you could do much worse in Boston but these issues prevent me from giving this 5 stars.

Great hospitality

We were there for the Boston Marathon and were greeting with so much excitement by the staff. All of them were so helpful. We will be coming back! While there we had a family emergency and ended up calling 911 to be rushed to the hospital. The hotel was able to extend our stay by one night without a problem. So thankful for their understanding!
