My husband and I traveled to Boston at the end of August to help our niece move back into Boston University and chose the Langham hotel (having stayed at The Lenox in the past). We were looking for a more luxurious 5-star experience and the Langham exceeded our expectations. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many attractions and other popular neighborhoods for shopping. We were even able to walk to BU (approximately 2.5 miles) the morning we were moving our niece in. The hotel's design is beautiful. It's elegant, modern, and clean, yet you can still feel the character and charm of the former Federal Reserve Bank. We got married in a former bank in NYC so the outside of the building actually reminded us of our wedding venue too which was nice. Our room was a good size, tastefully decorated, and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a fantastic rain shower with a lot of water pressure. The Diptyque bath products are top notch and reminded me of our trip to France in May. David White, the concierge, deserves a shout out. His service was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. He was able to secure a last minute breakfast reservation at a popular North End restaurant for us and recommended we explore the Seaport District, which turned out to be one of our favorite parts of Boston. The seaport is only about an 8 minute walk from the hotel. My husband used the gym both mornings and was impressed with its cleanliness, quality, and offerings. I appreciated the delicious mini jelly donuts offered in the lobby each afternoon. The Langham’s attention to detail was demonstrated by a note and small plate of cheese and crackers left for us during turndown service on our first night. I had mentioned to the reservationist during booking that we were coming to Boston to help move our niece back to BU, and it was nice to see that they not only took note of it but then acknowledged it in such a thoughtful and surprising way. This is truly five-star hospitality. Two minor suggestions I have: (1) Place a trash can near the hotel entrance. When we arrived, I had some garbage (dunkin donuts cups, paper bag, napkins) to dispose of from inside the car and was surprised there wasn’t a garbage bin at the front entrance of the hotel. I had to walk into the hotel fumbling with the garbage and then handed it to the front desk attendant who checked us in. He happily took it from me, but it was awkward to hand over trash to someone. (2) Place a small shelf in the shower for guests to place personal toiletries, such as face wash or razors. I had to balance my face wash on top of the shampoo bottle. Overall, our stay at The Langham was outstanding. I’ve already recommended it to my brother and sister-in-law and we look forward to returning on our next visit to Boston. If you're considering staying here, do it. You won’t be disappointed!

We were here for a company trip. The lobby was very nice. Some nights, there was water, other times, not. The front desk was very friendly. The attendants were always cleaning up. The rooms were clean. The lotions and soaps were Diptyque, a luxury brand that we fell in love with. They sold it at the front desk. This was definitely a luxury experience. Once in a lifetime!

Previously stayed at other Langham hotels - always a great experience. Unfortunately the Langham Boston is not up to standard . Definitely not five star. Air conditioning sounded like a jet plane in the room. Reported it to front desk after a sleepless night- no action. Chased again - finally offered an alternate room . Should not have to chase staff for a result if you are a five star hotel. Very disappointing .

This was a four day break for my wife and myself. The hotel is well appointed although the staff are not too friendly. Took two days to fix a problem in our room. The reception area can be noisy at times with the influx of people using the function rooms. The staff that cleaned our room were exceptional and are a credit to the hotel. A good solid five star hotel that needs a little work.

This hotel lived up to its luxury status. The hotel staff were always friendly and accommodating. Room was amazing. Turn down service was next level.
