3 nights stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Excellent stay for three nights, beautiful hotel and very clean. The breakfast is lovely and plentiful and the food and drinks in the bar are fantastic! Kudos to Toma and Eddie for looking after us at the terrace! There was a DJ on the weekend and he gave the terrace a really good atmosphere. All and all a fantastic stay and cannot wait to be back!

Lovely rooms- abysmal gym

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My partner and I are currently on a three night break in Brighton. We chose the Hilton due to its excellent reputation, and good online reviews. While I second almost every positive thing that has been written about the the hotel and its rooms, I wish I'd seen the poor reviews of the gym before I made the booking. We are frequent gym users, and like to stay in hotels with facilities. However, the gym here is nothing more than sub-standard. The changing rooms are dated and in very poor repair but- worst of all- the air-conditioning doesn't work in the fitness centre. Having spoken to members here, I discovered that this is a frequent problem. This time around, it has been out of action for more than two weeks. The gym is located in the basement of the hotel, so there is no natural ventilation. As the swimming pool (quite nice) and the sauna/steam room (ok, but often out of action, apparently) are on the same floor, the temperature in the gym is high. Two small table fans are not adequate. Lovely staff on the front desk and in the fitness centre, but what an appalling facility to offer.

A good hotel and a great Breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This hotel has been updated in recent years and I have stayed her a number of times over the years. The environment is nice especially in the bar and public areas. The bed room is adequately sized and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom however is very small and the ergonomics are terrible. The shower worked well but the tiling could be updated. The very best thing here is the breakfast - a fantastic selection and choice and a chef who will make you an omelet and freshly cooks the eggs

Fantastic service accommodation and location. Special mention to Haz who showed us what customer service is all about. Will be booking again in the future. Visit was for the Brighton game with a family trip. Leisure facilities really good and awesome breakfast!

Disappointing to say the least

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Disappointing stay. Our first experience with this hotel was the car park. Incredibly expensive for the tightest and smallest car park. £25 is the reduced rate for guests for 24 hour stay. Coming out of the car park, no easy way to find the hotel and led to us wondering around with our luggage for a while. Check in had a fairly lengthy queue. The room was clean, but very small and very basic. The most disappointing part of this hotel was the pool. The changing rooms were so unclean, with dirty used towels everywhere and stray bits of tissue. The pool water murky. The sauna broken. The steam room dirty and the hot tub the same cool temperature as the pool. We managed a whole 5 minutes before deciding to leave. The lift service was very poor- two lifts for the whole hotel which was fully booked resulting in long waits and queues. One night we decided to try to order to the room as we were not feeling well. We consistently rang to order food with no avail, only to be told there was only one chef on the May bank holiday weekend, who was understandably overwhelmed with orders. The breakfast was decent and plentiful. Overall the experience was disappointing and we will not be returning. I think management should try to focus a little more on providing a quality service for its customers rather than getting as many people in as possible and maximising on money and neglecting its guests once in.
