Reviews for Aria Hotel Budapest

Hidden Gem

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This hotel just kept on giving you more and more WOW moments as you explored this Hidden Gem. Just like Dr Who’s Tardis small on the outside very big on the inside . Free Cheese and Hungarian wine tasting late afternoon Mmmm lovely but beware we asked for a glass of Merlot but was not informed this Merlot wasn’t part of the free Hungarian tasting wines and we were charged 11600 HUF for 2 medium glasses of Merlot with service charge of 1740 HUF total 13340 HUF in sterling that was just under £30.00 but we paid in HUF so stick to the wines on offer for free unless you can afford that price or moneys no problem. Also on booking in you have to pay a hotel Tax which all hotels have to pay to the Government for two of us for 3 nights stay was around £18 sterling cheaper than 2 glasses of wine. Food excellent, staff very helpful and friendly although when we sat down at a table at the afternoon wine and cheese tasting we were asked if we were guests at the hotel by a waitress even though we’d been at the hotel a few days by then. It felt like a Julia Roberts moment in Pretty Woman with Richard Gere me not looking like I could afford to be at the hotel obviously not after paying nearly £30 for 2 glasses of wine haha but it was a beautiful hotel really enjoyed everything about it even had swimming pool steam rooms gym Jacuzzi Spa treatments. The hotel is in the town centre of Budapest lots of historical places in walking distance to visit restaurants, bars ,fashion shopping and cruise trips on the Danube River , St Stephen’s Basilica right next door to hotel we booked on line for our trip on Danube river and Basilica . Alcohol can be pricey and the food as you’re in town centre tourists price's . Would I go again? It’s a big YES from me.

A Symphony of Luxury Beneath the Basilica Dome

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Our six-night stay at Aria Hotel Budapest was nothing short of exceptional—an experience where every detail felt intentional, refined, and effortlessly elegant. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. The staff were attentive, gracious, and genuinely invested in ensuring a seamless and memorable stay. Their hospitality remained consistently outstanding throughout, creating an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and warmly personal. The rooms are chic and thoughtfully designed, blending modern comfort with artistic flair. Every space in the hotel reflects a high level of curation—from the interiors to the ambiance—resulting in a setting that feels both sophisticated and inviting. One of the true highlights is the rooftop at High Note SkyBar. Positioned right beside St. Stephen’s Basilica, it offers breathtaking, panoramic views of the city, with the iconic dome rising magnificently nearby. The setting is undeniably scenic and gorgeous—especially at sunset. The cocktails are carefully curated, the atmosphere is vibrant yet refined, and the entire experience feels elevated in every sense. The spa is phenomenal—tranquil, beautifully maintained, and equipped with excellent amenities that make it easy to unwind after a day exploring the city. It adds another layer of indulgence to the stay. Each evening, guests are treated to a wine and cheese reception accompanied by live music. This thoughtful touch creates a wonderful sense of community and relaxation, with an ambiance that is both lively and elegant. The dining experience throughout the hotel is equally impressive, with high-quality offerings that match the overall standard of excellence. In every aspect—service, setting, food, and experience—this hotel delivers at the highest level. A truly remarkable stay, and a place that sets the standard for hospitality in Budapest.

Truly special

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is something truly special—not simply because it’s a five-star establishment, but because of its charm, refined taste, and genuinely exceptional customer service. The location is superb. It’s virtually next door to St. Stephen’s Basilica on the Pest side of the Danube, with the river and Chain Bridge around a seven-minute walk away. The Opera House and Great Synagogue are about 15 minutes on foot, and the National Museum roughly 20. Trams and the metro are just yards from the entrance, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. As its name suggests, the hotel is music-themed in more ways than one—but this is no gimmick. The concept is executed with real elegance and restraint, adding character without ever feeling kitsch. Live music—often smooth jazz—accompanies the complimentary afternoon cheese and (excellent quality) wine, which is a lovely touch. Even the ambient music is thoughtfully curated; hearing Bartók in the lift is a refreshing change from standard elevator music. Subtle design features, from keyboard-patterned flooring to rooms themed around famous composers (we shared ours with Prokofiev—an impeccably well-behaved companion), reinforce the idea beautifully. There’s even a CD library, which feels like a charming nod to another era. We stayed in a wonderfully spacious Grand Luxury Double room, complete with two sumptuous double beds and all the expected amenities—and more. Housekeeping was impeccable, with twice-daily service including a turn-down with fresh towels and high-end chocolates. The large, elegant bathroom was stocked, unsurprisingly, with Molton Brown products. Breakfast, served in the airy atrium, was a highlight of each day. This wasn’t just breakfast—it was an experience. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely personal. Hot dishes were freshly prepared to order (almost anything you could want), while the continental selection was outstanding in both quality and variety. A delightful way to start the day. In the evening, the Sky Bar provides the perfect setting to unwind; even on colder nights, blankets and heaters make it possible to enjoy great food and wonderful views in comfort. As for the staff: quite simply, charming. Without exception, they struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. There was one minor lapse in housekeeping during our stay. The reception team were clearly concerned and ensured it was resolved immediately—which it was. They followed up later that day, and again at check-out, to confirm everything had been addressed to our satisfaction. We had all but forgotten the issue; they had not. That level of care and attention says a great deal about how seriously they take guest experience. Our only regret was not making use of the stylish spa, despite having packed our swimwear—there was simply too much else to see and do in this grand city. All in all, a fabulous five-day stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Budapest.
