Sofitel Buenos Aires Recoleta

Service is excellent across the border. Room always clean and organized to get started. Bellboys always ready to greet you and open the door, mate shaped check in counters with smiley people waiting for you, restaurant hostesses and servers ready to meet your needs and desires, concierges that will book transfers, get ticket events or find an emergency dentist! …. There are so many names of welcoming people that is is unfair just to name the few I remember, Federico, Federico, Julian, Camila, Laura, Noelia.. and especially Gisela who are always ready to help.

Us being Vegetarian .I informed the club that we can’t eat blue cheese or any kind of cheese unless it is vegetarian, first two days the took good care and replaced with other vegetarian food , but on 2nd day they refused and we asked for F & B manager , but there came a supervisor she said I will provide sandwich to you said ok , worst part we got two small pices of sandwich only among Four of us me my wife my son & my daughter Inlaw , being a platinum member We were never treated like this in my 15 years of ACCOR PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP. Hence decided to move to Marriot being Gold member there we are treated so well here which we did not expected I am so sorry to bring my family here thinking all Sofitel hotels are same with same treatment!!! Unfortunately it is not true as they told us we are different rules and law in this Sofitel here was shocked ? Also even the hotel was not fully occupied only 30-40%. But I did not even got my room upgrade at the time of check in was told I can’t excess to VIP CLUB LOUNGE even being PLATINUM MEMBER so strange !

This is one of the bad experiences I have had with a so called 5 Star hotel. Staff either does not speak English or a little bit. We were there for 4 days. Rooms - Were clean and tidy. Enough towels. Some of the lights were not working. We had to ask for coffee and milk and sugar everyday. Two of the days there were not even cups in the room. We asked numerous times for fresh milk to go with our coffee. Not getting any. The shower were leaking at the bottom. Maintenance is in a terrible state. Breakfast - pastries and different breads and cheeses were absolutely awesome. Unfortunately you get the same every single day. Same sausages, same dry bacon, same dry tomatoes. There were not even catered for special dietary requirements. We had people in our group that does not eat pork. The same tongs were used for cheese and ham. One person in our group even got a piece of ham in his omelet. Some people are strictly vegetarian and still the food were cross contaminated. Smoking area - I am not a smoker but certainly they could have done better. Smoking area right in front of the entrance. The area around Sofitel is very delapitated. Not looked after. Felt like we were at a back yard. I have been to Sofitel in Mauritius and it was amazing. Buenos Aires should work on yours. Do not recommend this hotel.

I have already stayed in several Accor flag hotels in several countries. This one is very good. Good location in a quiet and safe area, with a shopping mall across the street. Easy to go to the most important turistic attractions Staff very polite and helpful. Spaceous rooms. Very good breakfast that will fit all tastes. There is a nice patisserie on the ground floor. Go for the sweets! I am a big fan of photography. Take some time to check the pictures on display in the lobby.

This is a wonderful hotel all around. I would highly recommend this place. The service was extraordinary. The beds were great, lovely rooms with a bath tub. The location is fabulous and the value for the money is great. I cannot say enough about the staff, the breakfast, the location, everything! I stayed in another high end hotel in the city which was great but I would come back to this one without a question. I even lost some headphones and before I could email them, they emailed me that they found them. That is great service!
