The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, is redefining the coastline of Los Cabos. Open in June 2015, there’s no trace of the traditional Mexican beach resort. Sleek architectural lines eschew Spanish tile, and the rooftop bar channels New York City with a tropical vibe. The hotel is still distinctly Mexico – ceramicist José Noé Suro contributed contemporary art pieces, and hand-painted tile appears throughout the property. Arrive to a room dressed in bespoke Latin American furniture and accessorized with special touches – there’s a tequila welcome gift and a set of binoculars for spying on whales, which frequent the waters surrounding the Baja Peninsula.

Everything is perfect! They have the best view of the arch and you can see the whales from the room. The suite we got was meticulously maintained and beautifully designed. The pool area is super nice. Staff members are very helpful and friendly too. A very comfortable stay!

Honestly one of the best values for a luxury hotel in Cabo. The other previous luxury stays we've had that have gotten exponentially more expensive without adding value even further highlights theCape experience and value. It's our new favorite.

Perfectly situated hotel with a perfect view of Cabo. The infinity pool is to die for and the spa was perfect for a couples massage! Manta was a once I. A lifetime dinner experience. Rooms were spacious and up to date. Perfect birthday weekend. Will return!

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at The Cape. The staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming from start to finish. The biggest highlight of the property is the view — the sightlines to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas are absolutely stunning, both from the rooms and from several of the restaurants. It’s one of the best vantage points in Cabo and really sets the tone for a relaxing stay. Having Manta on property is also a major plus. It’s easily one of the best restaurants in the area and perfect for a romantic dinner. The tasting menu in particular was fantastic and lived up to the hype. That said, there were a few areas where the experience fell short, especially as a Hyatt member. There didn’t feel like much differentiation or recognition of status — no room upgrade, no expedited check-in, and no offer of a late checkout, which was disappointing given expectations for a property at this level. We were also surprised by how much the breakfast buffet at The Ledge is hyped up. The food itself was fairly mediocre, especially considering the ~$50 USD per person price point. Lastly, while the rooms are well designed and stylish, they’re starting to show their age. Our balcony door, in particular, was clearly in need of repair and felt like part of the room that hadn’t been refreshed in a while. All in all, The Cape offers beautiful views, great service, and an excellent dining option in Manta, but a bit more attention to room maintenance and Hyatt loyalty benefits would elevate the experience to a true five-star stay.

We loved our stay. The hotel is beautiful. Highlights include location, natural beauty, amazing balconies, and layout, staff was hard-working, attentive, friendly, and accommodating.
The rooftop is spectacular. The sunsets and views were incredible. Food and drinks were overpriced but good. The beach was not swimmable which is a negative, but clean, private and gorgeous. Fun to watch surfers. They could use some board games, deck of cards, or even a fancy chess board to add to the super fun pool table. Well-positioned elevators, etc. Really well-designed hotel. They've thought of everything. Beautiful gardens and natural surroundings are immaculately kept. Other guests were respectful, pleasant, polite and friendly.
While the concierge is in contact by text and email, they were not entirely helpful. They were unable to help us with dinner reservations. We ended up doing it all ourselves with ease. It seemed as if they were trying to keep us at the hotel for all meals. We were there for a week and had rented a car. Our plan was to explore and eat elsewhere for a few meals. However, I did not sit down and speak with the concierge face to face, so perhaps this would have made a difference.
We were at the hotel on New Year's Eve and they had a rooftop party. Our room was on the 3rd floor but still impacted by the sound and vibration of the base and music. I spoke with the manager and they satisfactorily resolved it. The New Year's eve rooftop party would have been incredible, so my feedback would be to let guests know about the potential for noise before they book - much like what a hotel would do if there was construction. They also brought earplugs to my room immediately after my call to the front desk and they helped immensely.
One other thing that I couldn't understand - no tea or coffee in the rooms! This would have made a huge difference to me.
Our experience with Luxury Link was a 10/10.
