About the Hotel

The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, is redefining the coastline of Los Cabos. Open in June 2015, there’s no trace of the traditional Mexican beach resort. Sleek architectural lines eschew Spanish tile, and the rooftop bar channels New York City with a tropical vibe. The hotel is still distinctly Mexico – ceramicist José Noé Suro contributed contemporary art pieces, and hand-painted tile appears throughout the property. Arrive to a room dressed in bespoke Latin American furniture and accessorized with special touches – there’s a tequila welcome gift and a set of binoculars for spying on whales, which frequent the waters surrounding the Baja Peninsula.

Gorgeous

Gorgeous hotel, great location close to town by great views of Los Arcos. Friendly staff, elevated decor in rooms. Adult focused, would not bring my kids here.

Top-Notch in Every Way: Unmatched Views, Beautiful Rooms & Superb Service (With One Astonishing Misstep)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Cape is, in nearly every respect, a top-notch hotel. The views are nothing short of spectacular, the best in Cabo San Lucas, without question. The rooms are beautiful, the service refined and attentive, and the entire property carries itself with the confidence of a place that knows it is exceptional. The dining deserves special mention. Every single bite we had was outstanding. Meals at The Point Break were consistently excellent, and The Sunken Bar was perfection, atmospherically and gastronomically. There were no misses, no compromises, and no moments of regret. The Cape takes food seriously, and it shows. Which makes the experience at check-in all the more bewildering. Upon arrival, we were offered what was described as an “upgrade” to a residence. This was presented as a courtesy. It was not. A residence is not an upgrade for guests who deliberately choose a hotel of this caliber. We do not travel to Cabo to feel as though we have been quietly reassigned to a timeshare, no matter how well-appointed. This suggestion, made at the very start of the stay, created immediate irritation and disbelief. It is difficult to overstate how jarring it is to begin a luxury vacation by having to decline an offering in order to preserve the experience you intentionally booked. Frankly, the hotel should be ashamed of this practice. An upgrade should elevate without explanation; it should never feel like a downgrade disguised as generosity. To The Cape’s great credit, everything after that moment was superb. The service, the atmosphere, the views, the rooms, and the dining were all so exceptional that they ultimately redeemed the stay in full. The Cape remains a truly outstanding hotel and one we would happily return to. Just be warned: should a “residence” be offered at check-in, decline it promptly and without apology. Once past that misstep, the experience is as close to flawless as Cabo has to offer.

Amazing!

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Cape. We stayed in the Thompson suite Which went above our expectations. The balcony was amazing, the lounge, chairs, and tables very comfortable as well as the plunge pool was awesome. The room itself was very comfortable and absolutely beautiful. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast was really good every day. We ate at Manta and the food. The rooftop was very vibrant, fun and they made wonderful drinks. The entire staff was as pleasant and welcoming and hopeful as any that we’ve come across. Ensure, we will definitely be back and would highly highly recommend.

Beautiful Cabo

The Cape is a beautiful resort with amazing views of El Arco. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We really loved the design of the hotel. The room was lovely with amazing views of the ocean. We saw many humpback whales from our balcony throughout our stay.

5 star resort with relaxed and friendly atmosphere

We had a fabulous time at The Cape. We planned the trip to celebrate my husband’s 65th birthday. It was quite the celebration. Fernanda Romero helped us with dinner reservations, and suggestions for activities before we arrived. Everything was perfect. Because of the special occasion, the hotel upgraded us to a junior suite. It was so nice. We could not have asked for more. Throughout our state, the hotel staff was attentive, respectful, and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay here. For my husband’s birthday we ate at the rooftop bar and Gilbert was our server. He was helpful helpful and friendly. He made food suggestions and seemed to magically appear at the moment that we needed something. We returned to rooftop bar two nights later for dinner and he came over to greet us, even though he was not our server that time. He stopped by several times throughout our meal to make sure that everything was OK and chat. We would highly recommend The Cape as the place to stay in Cabo.

We loved our stay. The hotel is beautiful. Highlights include location, natural beauty, amazing balconies, and layout, staff was hard-working, attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

The rooftop is spectacular. The sunsets and views were incredible. Food and drinks were overpriced but good. The beach was not swimmable which is a negative, but clean, private and gorgeous. Fun to watch surfers. They could use some board games, deck of cards, or even a fancy chess board to add to the super fun pool table. Well-positioned elevators, etc. Really well-designed hotel. They've thought of everything. Beautiful gardens and natural surroundings are immaculately kept. Other guests were respectful, pleasant, polite and friendly.

While the concierge is in contact by text and email, they were not entirely helpful. They were unable to help us with dinner reservations. We ended up doing it all ourselves with ease. It seemed as if they were trying to keep us at the hotel for all meals. We were there for a week and had rented a car. Our plan was to explore and eat elsewhere for a few meals. However, I did not sit down and speak with the concierge face to face, so perhaps this would have made a difference.

We were at the hotel on New Year's Eve and they had a rooftop party. Our room was on the 3rd floor but still impacted by the sound and vibration of the base and music. I spoke with the manager and they satisfactorily resolved it. The New Year's eve rooftop party would have been incredible, so my feedback would be to let guests know about the potential for noise before they book - much like what a hotel would do if there was construction. They also brought earplugs to my room immediately after my call to the front desk and they helped immensely. One other thing that I couldn't understand - no tea or coffee in the rooms! This would have made a huge difference to me.

Our experience with Luxury Link was a 10/10.
