Best hotel in Tenerife (or possibly the world!)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My favourite hotel does it again, another wonderful stay with a hotel that really appreciates you as a guest and after many years a friend. The staff really make this hotel perfect, they are the backbone of the hotel and they excel at everything they do. This year I am learning Spanish so several staff were only too happy to have a small Spanish converstation with me and even Jose in housekeeping managed to have a chat even though he didn't speak English and my Spanish is poor but improving. We used Google translate a bit but it was great that he took the time to do that with me. Christina (the physio) in the spa also encourgaged me and gave me confidence to practice more. At this hotel every effort is made by the staff to exceed expectations. I have been going for years and yet its never different, they try just as hard on my 8th year as when I arrived on year one. I try and stay twice a year and when I go back its just like a second home. The restaurants, facilities and location are second to none and the Spa is world beating. If its possible it gets better every time I stay. A huge well done for my best stay yet team, I appreciate you all.

Great place for a relaxing trip/our honeymoon!

Came here for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! Greeted w a drink after a long flight and the property is stunning. Manuel was the best at learning our story and having a nice table waiting for us at bfast every morning, give that man a raise! The restaurants and lounges on site are some of the best and most delicious we’ve ever experienced in a hotel/resort. The cleaning staff is also super friendly and great at what they do. Sea pool was great to swim in every day. Could not recommend this resort enough!

Bahia del Duque - simply paradise

This was our first visit to Tenerife. We chose the Bahía del Duque in consultation with our travel agent. It proved to be a wonderful decision. The hotel is essentially a resort in its own right with a wide range of bars, restaurants and pools. We stayed in a junior suite in ‘Casas Ducales’. The suite was generously appointed with separate sitting and sleeping areas, plenty of storage space and a lovely garden view. The bathroom was equally well appointed with a full bath, separate shower and toilet and his and hers vanity units. There was a very generous supply of Aqua di Parma products and towels. Our terrace had two comfy sun loungers, a table and two chairs. We had dinner in five of the hotel restaurants and could not fault the quality of the food or the service. Breakfasts were buffet style, probably the best range of foodstuffs we have ever encountered. The hotel and grounds are accessible throughout and well lit at night. Where there are steps there is always an alternative path/ walkway or lift. Of course an alternative was always a golf buggy which would arrive within a few minutes of being requested. There are several pools including a children’s pool and there is also easy access to the sandy beach. There are comfortable sun loungers across the resort. This hotel well deserves its 5-star status and accolades. We are looking forward to returning to the Bahia del Duque many times over the years ahead not least as we didn’t make use of all the facilities available in this short trip. However, the main reason will be to enjoy the warm hospitality that we received. There were simply too many amazing staff to list here so we will simply say thank you to everyone who made our visit so memorable, we will see you again soon.

Simply the Best

Having waited 25 years to sample the delights of the Bahai Del Duque it surpassed our wildest dreams. Breath taking architecture, amazing views out to see and equally amazing looking back from the sea, village life reminiscent of both the Amalfi Coast and Pot Merion. The glory of this hotel does not stop at views, the staff are ambassadors for the hotel and the service they produce for guests is second to none, Ismael at breakfast was one that stood out in the crowd with his impeccable service to all around us. Surrounded by eight restaurants ranging from Michelin star to amazing sea food at the Beach Club serve up taste delights, we sampled five during our five nights with the fish getting double billing! El Bernegal with its world beating breakfast selection and service, Beach Club with its superb at the table fish preparation and delivery, La Tratoria with Italian food to suit all, Sua with steak to die for and La Hacienda serving Mexican charm. Given the elevation of the hotel a buggy transport is on hand to ship you around and save that energy for enjoying the four pools, two salt water and two fresh water, one of which is heated and In addition the kids have there own pool. We were lucky to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite, which we could quite easily have lived in, it was spotless and would compete with any luxury new build, massive lounge, luxury bedroom with a bed the side of a paddle board court and a wonderful bathroom, service to our room was impeccable and with Molten Brown soaps throughout what more could you ask for. In all honesty I don’t think there a better hotel in Spain and possibly the world where you will get so spoiled, the hotel is now upgrading rooms in large numbers not that you would notice unless told, we used a courtesy room to shower prior to leaving and both the room and view from its balcony were breathtaking. We will definitely return and thank you to everyone involved in making our stay so special.
