io Perdido It’s hard to think of anything negative to say - it truly is a 5+ star resort. From the moment you check in the service is unbelievable - all team members are friendly and accommodating. Very knowledgeable (most are local) and more than willing to answer questions or find a solution to an inquiry. The property is beautiful - perfectly maintained and private design so that each bungalow feels as though it’s alone in the forest. Monkeys are be seen overhead and there are a lot of opportunities for wildlife spotting. The bungalows are very spacious and well laid out. Beds are unbelievably comfortable and a range of pillows made for a comfy sleep for all of us. We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention the shower - perhaps it’s because our last stop had a terrible shower but we found this one lovely - fast hot water, lovely rainfall shower head (and handheld) and great pressure. The are hiking trails and a full schedule of activities you can sign up for. We recommend the tubing - super fun and the staff who accompanied us were so fun! Definitely a highlight!! The pool is beautiful - it is actually broken up into 3 pools and with only 38 rooms there are plenty of sun beds regardless of how full the resort is. Food……oh wow I could dedicate an entire review - never a bad meal. The menu offers selections for everyone (gluten free, veg, etc) and the staff are very accommodating with special requests due to restrictions. One tip: watch the price is leading up to your trip… If the price drops or there is a promotional special, you may email the resort for a rate adjustment

If you are reading reviews and considering staying here - BOOK IT! Our stay was probably the best in our lives. Everything was amazing. Highlights for myself were - the thermal hot springs river on the property - a three minute walk from your bungalow. Bunalow casitas were amazing. even blackout curtains we almost missed breakfast! The cocktails were the best I ever had. Great time sitting at the swim up pool bar in the afternoon. Staff were the best ever. There are negatives I can think about. Heck, we didnt even get bit by one mosquito. Great job hotel management, I will stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Rio Perdido. The staff and service was excellent. The rooms were well-appointed with special touches. We stayed in the Center Bungalows and were happy to see an anteater outside our room on the path one morning. The food at Rio Perdido was delicious and fresh. The included breakfast had so many options, and the fresh organic produce and fruits from the garden were the star of most dishes. We enjoyed a yoga class, exploring the paths on the property, and the thermal river and thermal pools. We look forward to returning!

My husband and I stayed for five nights and overall we had a great experience. The location and beauty of the thermal river is incredible. We stayed in the newest bungalow and the room was spacious and well designed. The outdoor shower was fantastic and so was the thermal tub. I appreciated the number of food options given how long we stayed and the flexibility of the staff allowing us to order from any menu regardless of where we were seated. The quality is fresh. We enjoyed the hiking trails and found them to be very well marked. We had an excellent massage at the spa. The hotel transportation to the airport was seamless. We left feeling relaxed and would definitely return for another stay. Areas for improvement: The AC in our room constantly would shut off during our stay. The mechanic looked at it twice and although the second time he was able to make the room much cooler with a settings change, he was not able to resolve the AC shutting off throughout the day. I was surprised the staff did not follow up on this especially given I was told it’s a brand new unit. One of the perks of the newer bungalows is that you can have breakfast delivered. I was surprised that on Saturday morning there was construction noise at the neighboring bungalow, taking away from a relaxing breakfast outside. The breakfast should be served uncovered as the food steams excessively during the transport. I do not think they should be charging extra for a French press given the pricing of everything, that felt tacky. It was challenging at times to communicate food requests. For example, a few times we ordered a starter and mains and everything came at once. I agree with the other reviews that the food needs improvement. It is very expensive and lacks creativity etc. for the price point. The service at the hotel pools can be improved. I think given how staffed they are someone can be more attentive at the lounge areas so you don’t need to get up. I did use WhatsApp one day to get service and they were happy to bring us menus etc. I found some of the staff to be really friendly and kind and others not so much. Joman was especially kind and helpful.

I cannot say enough great things about our stay. From the moment we arrived until we departed it was absolutely amazing. The employees are wonderful - Ana in the gift shop was a doll ad so was Daniela. We did the tubing and zip line adventure and our guides were hysterical!! They made it so much fun Oscar, Marvin, Kevin, Angie, etc. The food was terrific and the owner was there and came by to introduce himself one evening. We went off property to Rio Celeste and Byron was the best! So knowledgeable and took his time to point out lots of different things in the rainforest. The pools were so relaxing and so was the thermal river. And all the guys at the pool bar made our stay memorable - Ronald, Joiner, Wilfredo, Angel and everyone else. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation We plan to return the end of the year!!
