About the Hotel

Nestled along the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa constitutes a quiet refined oasis among the surrounding din. Elegant details set the resort apart from its peers. A delicate flower scent permeates the welcoming lobby and guests can frolic around four outdoor swimming pools. The infinity-edged main pool threads through the landscaped grounds and fronts the pristine powdery sand. Jump the diving pool's deep end and explore the built-in artificial reef. Dotted with beach chaise loungers and shady palapas, the 700-foot beach beckons to linger. The cerulean ocean is the resort's ubiquitous backdrop and all 448 rooms have private balconies where to take in the view. Appointed in classic style, roomy accommodations (the smallest measures 465 square feet) feature sitting areas with lively color accents, wireless Internet access, 32-inch flat-panel televisions and twice-daily maid service. Bathrooms are exquisitely marble-bedecked with separate tubs and showers.

Third visit just as good if not better than first 2

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Third time visiting the JW and 2nd time doing club. Upgraded at club at check in for Marriott Plat price of $160 + tax per day. Well worth it the club staff and experience is incredible. Did breakfast and lunch there each day and quality was great. Did HH there for a drink before dinner then went off property for dinner. Tons of restaurants across the street that are great. The staff at the pool is incredible with top notch service. The pool itself is better than pictures. It’s massive never had to fight for chairs. This is one of the best non all inclusive options in Cancun.

Grand suite very comfortable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Visited with my daughter for a week during her vacation. Very happy overall with hotel, nice staff, grand suite was great to share with her (extra 1/2 bath, comfortable pull out couch). We had breakfast included and it was very good buffet every day. The food at the spanish restaurant was our favorite dinner at the hotel, our food at Harry's down the road was our favorite of vacation. Rented a cabana for week and the service was excellent (though I will say I saw excellent service everywhere at the pool). The shade and extra plush cabana and loungers and view made the cabana a good choice. Had cabana #4 and I think #3 and #4 were the best located of all the poolside cabanas. 4/5 only because lunches got boring, only one restaurant opened that time of day. A little more variety would be appreciated!

Perfect birthday escape

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Everything about our nine-night stay at the JW Marriott Cancún, with Club 91 access, during a 14-day Cancun holiday was incredible. This was our second visit to the JW; the first in November 2019. Our premium ocean view room was spacious, thoughtfully appointed, and in exceptional condition. Twice-daily housekeeping was outstanding in their attention to detail. Our room was festooned with balloons, birthday greetings, and goodies for two consecutive days (Marriott Bonvoy profile contained my birthdate). As LGBT+ travelers we felt completely welcomed. Service and food in the Club 91 lounge was notable for the quality and care at every encounter; the entire staff was top-notch. The food was so good that we had only one dinner outside of the hotel (at Fred’s for a birthday celebration). We did not dine at any of the hotel restaurants, as every night in the club lounge featured a revolving menu from those venues. The beach and pools have an abundance of comfortable seating, and attentive service without being obtrusive. Food and beverage from Beachwalk was varied and delicious. The Bali beds on the beach are a great splurge if you want a front row ocean view for a day in the cool shade. The grounds are beautifully maintained. An 80-minute massage at the Spa was top-notch, and the yoga classes excellent. The JW Marriott Cancún will absolutely be our first choice for future Cancún travel.

JWMarriott Cancun Delivers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

JW Marriott never disappoints- but what made this trip so wonderful was the people that we interacted with daily at the pool and the beach. The service was incredible. We are used to nice resorts and good service, but the people at the JWMarriott are a step above anything that we have ever experienced. I might be leaving some out… but the standouts on our weeklong trip were: Alvaro- Pool & Beach Gilberto Ponciano- Pool & Beach Milton- Gustino Italian restaurant onsite Gustavo- Pool & Beach

JW Marriott Cancún

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We had a mixed experience during our recent stay. The stay didn’t start off right as shortly after getting to our room we heard a very loud rock n roll band setting up for that evening. The noise level was totally unacceptable however there was no notice of this when checking in and receiving room assignment. Had we received notice we would have never agreed to the room and the front desk was less than urgent to reassign us to another room. And although other reviewers touted the restaurants we found them to all be very overpriced and the restaurant staffs were very aggressive to get us seated when we simply ask to see a menu. It’s not easy to walk from this property to anywhere else such as off premise restaurants which limits the selection. The property itself was very nice however there was no effort to remove the sargassum from the beach during our entire stay. If we visit Cancún again we will most likely stay at an all inclusive resort as the restaurant selection was limited and prices are too high to justify.
