Hotel Barriere Le Gray d'Albion

I stayed here with my sister to celebrate my birthday, and from check-in to check-out, we were met with rudeness and a complete lack of care from the front desk staff and the manager, Shella (I believe that is the name of the manager). Sadly, we experienced incidents that could only be described as racist — something we hoped wouldn’t be the case. On my birthday, I was left in tears following an interaction with the night team. Rather than offering a simple apology, Shella chose to defend her staff, saying they were “good” and essentially dismissed everything I had gone through. Housekeeping also failed to meet basic standards. Our room wasn’t properly cleaned, and requests for privacy were ignored. On one occasion, a cleaner entered while I was completely naked, despite clear instructions not to come in — which is a serious breach of privacy and completely unacceptable. The only saving grace of this stay was the breakfast team. They were warm, thoughtful, and clearly saw I was upset. They went out of their way to sing happy birthday to me, which brought a bit of light to an otherwise awful experience. To be clear: the front desk and security team were unprofessional, dismissive, and demonstrated behaviour that was both racist and unacceptable. However, the rest of the hotel staff, especially those at breakfast, were truly lovely. I would not recommend staying here, especially if you’re expecting even basic levels of respect and hospitality.

We have spent our family holidays here for decades and our expectations have been met and exceeded, including this year. Luxury, discreet elegance, the great professionalism and helpfulness from the front desk staff, concierge and every dedicated employee make the stay very special. We would particularly like to thank Pascal Duplay, Directeur de Clientele, for an outstanding ability to fulfill the guests’ wishes and expectations and to ensure the perfect stay – every day. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful hotel perfectly located. The rooms are perfect, be sure to pay attention to the sizes as there are ones with a little more space than others. Staff are lovely and communications are fantastic by email. Just a walk away from many wonderful cafes and the beach.

Can't say enough great things about this hotel and especially the staff, particularly, Arthur. From the moment we arrived the staff was very welcoming and receptive. Arthur helped us check in and personally took us up to our room ensuring we had everthing we needed. The bellhop followed soon after with our bags. We had a wonderful time. Location of the hotel was ideal, close to the water, shops and many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately my mom and I had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency at home and once again Arthur came to our rescue. Given the May 1st holiday we had issues trying to reach support personal at the airline. Arthur helped us secure our air and train tickets allowing us to get home ASAP. I will never forget the amazing service we received. Can't say enough great things about the hotel and staff. Have been telling everyone I know about it. So far already had two of our friends book stays! Thanks so much. Looking forward to our next visit.
