Hotel Martinez

Very nice hotel and only 1 mile from the old downtown with an easy city bus right across the street. The only real negative was that the pool was probably 95 degrees F and too warm to even enjoy on a hot day. not sure why the pool was so overheated. Pricey but to be expected given the location and quality.

Excellent location good hotel, center of cannes have a great pool and spa good for families or couples.... Great team and excellent concierge

Pros (1) Great breakfast buffet. Wide range of food which was good. Outdoor area was nice but there were aggressive birds (2) Housekeeping was good (3) Rooms were all white, big and modern (4) Check in and check out generally smooth except a room was not ready at 3pm Cons (1) Booked many months earlier but was not told beach club would be closed to hotel guests for a long period in June. If I was told earlier, I may have considered staying elsewhere. Carlton hotel beach club was partially open. (2) Rooms face train track so can hear trains from 7am. (3) Had horrible booking experience. Had to call Hyatt line 3 times to sort out number of rooms booked. (4) Expensive considering the beach club was closed (5) One room was not ready at 3pm which seems unacceptable for a hotel like this (6) Swimming pool is really small and crowded

The location and cleanliness of the rooms were definitely 5-star, however charging 10 euros for room service delivery and a surprise 2100 euro security deposit upon check-in is so excessive. I think this hotel caters only to the insanely wealthy and not two people wanting to stay somewhere special for their honeymoon. I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family looking to stay in Cannes. We felt very much like outsiders and it felt like the staff were openly talking about us to each other in French. In addition, the housekeeping staff kept rearranging our stuff and were a bit passive aggressive (for example, we would buy snacks from the places we visited and they would see the snacks and leave the room service menu open in a deliberate spot). Anyway, this would be a nice place if you’re rich and French I guess! To each their own.

We had a great stay at The Martinez. We were there for 4 nights. Well located, really luxurious, great pool, delicious food. Storage in our room was on the ridiculous side of things, someone here definitely overdid the style at the detriment of substance, valet wait is ridiculously slow, order your car well in advance. Ratio of staff to guests seem to be on the lower side of things for a hotel of this caliber, must admit we were spoiled at The Byblos in St TROPEZ. I would consider staying again but would triple check that our room has an actual closet and a bathroom vanity that can handle more than one toothbrush and I would order my car a good 30 minutes before needing it
