Always great!

I have never actually stayed at the hotel but have been in all of their restaurants and bars. Great vibes, superb food, top shelf drinks, and a great time. I make this a "must do" every time I visit Cape May. The best of the best and warm and friendly. A gem!

Great service. Nice hotel rich with history.

We visit Cape May often and this was our first time staying here. It's what you would expect - historic, old hotel with tons of character. We had a queen double street view. Pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the bathroom including a large tub. Amenities from Beach Plum Farm top notch. Service from all at hotel was outstanding. Downsides: rooms are old squeaky floors, you can hear your neighbors. We found earplugs in the drawers on our last morning. Top late. Other for us was that a movie was being filmed on street outside - way into the late hours of the night (morning). Loud and bright lights. (Rare occurrence) Would have been nice to know that when we booked only two weeks earlier. They did give us small credit for noise. Otherwise, we would return when we want full service hotel v other typical hotels or B&Bs in Cape May. Bar had good drinks and service. We did not eat at restaurant, wanted to try pizza place but was not open. Blue Pig menu didn't excite us. Plenty of outside seating for nice weather.

Lovely charming hotel!

This hotel is lovely! From the moment we checked in, we enjoyed the ambience and charm of the hotel. The wood burning fireplaces really made it great as the weather was chilly- enjoyed them in the Blue Pig, the Brown Room, and lobby. The rooms were fine also. We had no complaints about anything during our stay! The only stressful part was their cancellation policy is unreasonable. Problems and circumstances can come up and I believe it is 21 days, or longer, to not get your deposit back which is 1/2 your stay required. Most hotels/resorts have a 7 day and some a 3 day.

Very disappointing

They assigned us a room in a wing that was above the Boiler Room bar. We heard thumping music until 12:30 am for two straight night nights and got horrible sleep for our weekend get-away that was supposed to be relaxing. I complained after the first night and the front desk response was "we're sold out, we can't move you, just call down and ask them to turn it down" - really? After checking out, we accidentally overheard people who were in the room next to us also complain and they got a deduction off their bill. I was not offered that until I went back and asked for it after overhearing them. The amount was insulting. The rooms in that wing are also not easily accessible as you have to go up and down a set of stairs to access the rooms which is totally inconvenient with suitcases. Those rooms should not even be offered as guest rooms based on the bar noise and the accessibility issues; they are a pure money grab which is totally unacceptable for the price point and supposed exclusivity the resort brands itself.

Old School comfort at the Jersey Shore

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was on the 4 th floor with a view of the ocean and hotel grounds. Nightly turndown service was so nice. Great food in the Blue Pig Tavern by the fireplace. The Brown room bartenders were amazing. Perfect Martini. The musician who played on Sunday night in the Brown Room was fantastic. Great location for walking the town or the promenade. They even mailed me my hair wand free of charge as I forgot it when we checked out. Place was so clean as well! Will be back when pool is open and would love to see this place in full swing!
