About the Hotel

Argos in Cappadocia is the result of a labor of love 26 years in the making and now a world-class hotel that exceeds the expectations of the most sophisticated of international travelers. Perched high above the village of Uchisar, a ten-minute walk away, the hotel is perfectly located for the exploration of all of Cappadocia’s. A mysterious, even unearthly expanse of ravines, canyons, mountains, and valleys, it was formed by millions of years of soft volcanic lava and ash.

Delicious breakfast with very attentive waiter durmus. The hotel’s historic nature is interesting. The spa is lively. They have a guided tour around the hotel which is wonderful. Beautiful view overlooking pigeon valley

A Magical Place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel is stunning - amazing views. We had a cave room which added to the experience. The staff were warm and incredibly helpful. We dined at both restaurants and the food and service were truly spectacular! An incredible place - we were truly blown away!

Incredible hotel with some notable misses

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Argos is a beautiful hotel in an absolutely stunning setting. Available with Hyatt points, it makes for a fantastic redemption in the area. However, a few service mishaps left a sore taste in my mouth, and recovery was unimpressive. Check in: We arrived around midday after an early flight from Istanbul followed by a transfer from Kayseri airport. Though our room was unavailable when we arrived, staff were very helpful in getting us situated, including by giving us early access to the gym and spa to shower and work out. Staff kindly upgraded us by one category, which was a nice surprise. Room: Our room was a highlight of our stay. It was very spacious with incredible views of the valley in front of the hotel. While the room itself did not have a private balcony, it was right next to several shared terraces that we never found occupied. The terraces were thoughtfully designed, arranged such that the privacy and clarity of the room's view were preserved. The room was generally very well maintained, and housekeeping was very thorough. However, I was surprised that a flickering lightbulb was left undetected for the duration of our stay. Our room also featured a fireplace, which we were unfortunately unable to use due to high wind. My one gripe with the room was the shower, which did not have a door and only had a wand, with no main shower head. The bathroom (especially the shower) was also rather dimly lit, which might be a concern for visually impaired guests. Amenities: Amenities in the hotel were a highlight, with some notable exceptions. I highly recommend taking the tour of the property offered every day at 5pm, which is a nice overview of the space. A highlight was the wine cellar in a cave below the Seki restaurant. The two pools, though a little small, are both quite nice and were not busy during our stay. The spa facility was well appointed and serene, though a noticeable omission was a public hot tub; the jacuzzi was only available when booked with a treatment. During our stay, we had the opportunity to try two of the culinary offerings on site. The complimentary breakfast, at Nahita restaurant, was sublime. The pastries, yoghurt, and fruit were incredible, and the service was top notch. On the other hand, dinner at the Seki restaurant was wildly underwhelming. Craving an intermission from the traditional Turkish fare, we ordered the pasta, which tasted as though it could have been a frozen meal. The pumpkin dessert, however, is delectable and not to be missed. The hotel is in an area surrounded by other cave hotels, though it has close proximity to the center of Nevsehir, the Nevsehir castle, and great hiking. Service: Service was largely excellent, with attentive and friendly staff at every turn. However, there were notable exceptions that really sullied the experience. On our final morning, the early wake up call we had requested came over 15 minutes late. The ensuing rush spoiled the rhythm of our departure and left our driver waiting. The staff member that checked us out offered us a bottle of wine as an apology gift, but was unable to offer any alternatives when told that most of our party doesn't drink. A bathrobe or comped dinner would have been a lovely gesture, but the agent was insufficiently empowered to offer us either of these things. Mistakes happen, but when front-line staff are not empowered to recover gracefully, it dramatically diminished my impression of the service overall. Bottom Line: Argos is a truly beautiful hotel in a magnificent setting, and overall I generally loved my stay. But in setting such a high bar at the outset, my expectation of consistency in the stellar service was ultimately not met. I would return again to Argos, though I hope that I'm met with a more empowered staff and a menu with no bad choices when I return.

A wonderful experience. This is by far the best SPA hotel I visited

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Argos Cappadocia is a true gem if you want to visit the region while staying at a very quiet and well run hotel. The food is amazing and ingredients sourced locally. The SPA offers great massages and relaxing experiences. Each room has its own character and is built within the cave structure. Sustainability is at the heart of the concept. No plastic around. Service is impeccable. My top rated hotel in Türkiye. A true gem in an otherwise spoiled region with too many cheap hotels and tourists.
