This hotel is absolutely FANTASTIC. The room was stunning and spotlessly clean. You are about a 5/10 minute taxi ride from the town, I would however recommend hiring a car if you would like to go out and see a bit more, we would do this if we stayed again. The nearest town Chania is gorgeous and we highly recommend Astrea gardens to eat, we ended up there twice because the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. The hotel pool is fabulous and you can walk straight onto the private area on the beach which so lovely to have. The thing that really set Domes Zeen apart was the attentiveness of the staff, Chris was so helpful at booking us restaurants and dat trips. The only thing that let this hotel down slightly was the food. Breakfast was lovely a buffet style which had everything you could want and was nice and fresh however we had lunch at the hotel and it was just quite average considering its price. We felt the same about the dinner we had at the hotel and actually chose to eat out the rest of the holiday which we enjoy anyway. We would 100% stay here again.

We booked Domes Zeen Chania expecting the "Luxury Collection" tranquility advertised on their website. Instead, we were woken up at 7:30 AM by heavy construction noise directly in front of our room. There is currently a massive €40 million expansion project happening on-site (adding 16+ buildings) that was never disclosed during the booking process or at check-in. The noise is constant and can be heard across the entire property, making it impossible to relax by the pool or on our private terrace.

Marriott always meets its standards. We are impressed with the massive grounds and the resort has a buggy to take us to the beachfront restaurant. However, you can also walk, which is quite convenient. Both rooms we stayed in were excellent; decor has a rustic and contemporary vibe. The resort upgraded us to a family room with a pool (Room 5002), but we had booked a room with a sea view and balcony. We voiced our desire for a sea-view room, and the manager, Mrs. Erissa, called us to say it was fully booked but would change our room the following day for another upgrade with a sea view and a pool (Room 2005) too. Their guest service is excellent; they tried their best to meet our needs, and the rest of the staff are also very welcoming. We are pleased with their hospitality team. There are daily programs such as yoga, exercise, and skin consultation classes that are offered. We didn't have time to try out any of their free programs. It's a nice touch bringing free evening snacks and beer to our room. The buffet breakfast is excellent, with lots of choices and super friendly staff again. Although the hotel is packed, which we noticed during breakfast time, the staff are very enthusiastic when dealing with a full house. I'll write another review on their fine dining restaurant separately. I'll stay in this resort again! Since we stayed in late April and the weather was cold, we didn't try out the pool. I can imagine how pleasant it would be during summer. The resort has its own private beach right across from their beachfront restaurant. The location is not in the city center, but it's a short taxi ride to the charming Old Town Chania. This is a perfect getaway from the crowd with easy access to the center of town.

The architecture is impressive and the views from the hotel, both from the lobby and the rooms, are stunning. Waking up in the morning with a direct view of the sea was a highlight. The pool is also very nice, but not heated in winter, so they cannot really be used during that time. During summer it can get very crowded with a lot of kids. There is no sauna and the spa area is quite small. The fitness area was very limited, with only 3-4 machines and outside. It could not really be considered a proper gym. Breakfast was excellent with a great view and very good products. Dinner, however, was more average. The quality of the food was good, but there were often long waiting times between courses and the selection was not very varied. Overall, still a pleasant stay with a few areas that could be improved.

Right from our arrival, we found Domes Zeen to be a top hotel. We arrived late in the evening and still received a warm welcome. Our room was very good, with plenty of space and great facilities. We used the Beach House restaurant regularly (Zamana was closed at the time) and there were some issues with service and menu availability, especially for the first couple of days. This was attended to swiftly by Guest Relations, and it was clear that they wanted to put things right. It was also very early in the season: the hotel had only opened for the summer a few days earlier, so these things can happen. The hotel’s location is pretty good: it’s on the edge of town, which means that it’s reasonably quiet and relaxing, and you can walk to Chania Old Town in about 20 minutes. We hired a car for a few days and there isn’t really a proper car park at the hotel. We always found a space but it was usually a bit off-road! I would certainly recommend Domes Zeen Chania for a family holiday. The facilities are great and staff make a superb effort to keep their customers happy. Special thanks to Christos in Guest Relations for going the extra mile!
