Beautiful design but lacking service expected of a five star hotel. We booked two rooms to attend a wedding over the Fourth weekend. The attendant at booking was great and welcoming. Everything went south from there. Called the concierge to set up restaurant reservations prior to arrival and never was called back. After two attempts on different days got through and was able to book reservations. Check-in went well. Room was pleasant but small and looked over the roof. Not a great view. No luggage rack in room. Rooftop pool was poorly managed. As many seats for cabanas as non cabanas. Attendants no help in getting seats or setting up chairs. One day I found a chair and watched an attendant set up two chairs for others without setting me up. Then she walked by with waters and skipped us. I lost it and asked her for water and then we got it. We went to get our own towels as she did not offer. Doormen were great in opening doors and getting car. Housekeeping was bad. No one spoke any English. Each day they showed up when we were getting ready for dinner to clean the room for the day. This was cleaning and turn down all in one. Our last day, they showed up bright and early several times only to get sent away. Little to no management. Wedding last night in ballroom. Music played till midnight. Other than that, the designer did a really nice job with the interior and finishes.

This was once a great hotel. But it has unfortunately lost all of the charm that made it a special place. You are now just a number.

What a disappointment. The roof top bar and pool were packed with people not even staying at this hotel. We couldn’t use the pool, which is very small, in fact it shouldn’t be advertised as a feature due to its size. There were no perks to paying what we did. Stay somewhere else.

This place is fantastic and I'm the queen of a great bougie hotel. It's a must wherever I go. Hotel Bennett: top notch service, wild friendly, incredibly polite, darling bakery, swish champs & caviar bar, great rooftop pool (albeit small). This place is an absolute gem in the best part of town. On Saturdays just outside their front door in a grand public park, there is a most darling arts crafts and food flea market. The star of this hotel though is the staff. Absolute southern charm at its best, which brings me too... Kevin, the Concierge. This guy is a reality show waiting to happen. By far the best concierge we have ever experienced. A complete and utter pro, plugged in, full of secret tips, honest insight, and a little black book of all the who's who in town. Kevin hooked it all up for us in about an hour: Fantastic Barrier Island boat tour of the inter-coastal which was the highlight of the trip, along with the best walking tour guide ever, Ed, who is equally entertaining and super educated on all things southern and Charleston history. Kevin will tell you what tourist traps to avoid, what restaurants are overrated, and he can finagle you a table even if one isnt available. During our stay he called the GM of Halls Chophouse and scored us a table on a friday night in prime dinner time! And the meal was spectacular. Fabulous stay all thanks to Kevin for sure. He really made the trip, and he LOVES his job. every time he successfully booked us a restaurant or tour, he would erupt, " SOOOO EXCITED!!!" and then high five our 8yr old daughter. It was all too hysterical and wonderful. Kevin is well known by the front desk staff who start talking up his praises and local fame the minute you check in. If you stay here and do not use Kevin, you are MISSING OUT. The end.

What a wonderful experience! The rooms were incredibly clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the location of Hotel Bennett is absolutely perfect! The hotel is located right in the heart of Charleston, close to any restaurant or bar you might want to taste. The rooftop bar and pool also provides a perfect place to lay and relax after a long day of walking around and seeing all Charleston has to offer. The concierge was a huge help in helping make our stay and will be a great resource for your needs while on the property. I’d stay here time and time again. The next time I visit Charleston, there’s no doubt which hotel I will be staying at. As a perk, each room is full with complimentary nespresso!
