I went to Hotel Bennet as an American Express Platinum recommended fine hotel. I booked a junior suite. Immediately after checking in I went back to the front desk to complain about the climate control. The air conditioning for the room only worked in the study but not in the actual bedroom. No suitable downgrade or upgrade was acceptable. I was offered a fan to try to push cool air into the bedroom. The issue was the study was 66 degrees and the bedroom 82 degrees, not a suitable sleeping temp. The study was so cold that it was not usable, and it was next to the bathroom. Overall the experience was poor. The hotel was nice, but the room and the upgrade room offered were not worth the money I paid. I am very disappointed in this hotel because the primary purpose of the state is to have a comfortable room.

I laughed when I learned it was newly constructed in 2019, the building is tastefully respectful of vintage Charleston area. Lovely room and amenities all around. Get Kevin the Consummate Concierge to tell you ALL his secrets. Eat pastry in the Pastisserie. Lounge in the bar. Enjoy the exceptional bedding. We didn’t use the Club Level amenities or the spa because we were too busy, but this was a luxurious experience all around. Kudos!

We enjoyed a memorable Easter weekend at the Hotel Bennett~ Traditional, elegant, and welcoming lobby. Stunning floral display! Fabulous concierge services and front desk staff. Cozy beds, fluffy pillows and fresh towels. The hotel rooms were spacious, bathtub amazing. All the trimmings of a luxury experience. Location is ideal for walking downtown Charleston. The food at the bar was great (truffle fries, yum!) but the service was oh so slow. The bartender seemed overwhelmed on all three occasions we visited. We were patient and he provided complementary fries for the long wait. Very nice service and accommodating to hotel guests. The pool was overly crowded and the very limited seating area made it difficult to enjoy. I wished for more lounge chairs and to remove the "private cabanas". It would be ideal to extend the opening/closing time for guests to enjoy a lap swim. It's fine to close the poolside service but would be nice to have an opportunity to swim since this was a factor for us in selecting this hotel. The Easter brunch was extraordinary. An afternoon tea and bubbly and oysters in the pink Camellias is a divine treat. Such a beautiful feel and sense of wonder. This hotel goes a long way to make you feel special and welcomed. La Patisserie was crowded but tasty when we could find a way in to grab and go. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The location, the service and the accommodations, all so lovely. We appreciate the extra care and thoughtful touches Hotel Bennett offers their guests. We hope to return!

Five star hotel. The roof top bar/pool area is fantastic. Great location, and concierge had fantastic recommendations for local restaurants. I would recommend trying smoked duck if you have never tried. Our two daughters loved shopping on King street, and would recommend going down to head into the old section of the city.

Loved this place! Could have stayed longer. Gorgeous lobby and hotel rooms. Great service - baggage help, front desk, and concierge. A drink on arrival and complimentary in room. The room was comfortable, clean, and pretty, Great bathroom! It was nice and fancy. Felt great to vacation there. Pool on top floor. It was crowded and not enough pool space, but the kids still had fun and a great view. French bakery was talked up a lot, but did not match the hype. Some croissants were not even heated up at breakfast. Gym was a nice addition, but not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. Gym could have been at any hotel. Not a five star gym. Our overall stay was memorable and fantastic. Great location to dining and shops. Concierge service is a big help. Hotel is expensive which limited our days there.
