Planters Inn

I stayed at the Planter’s Inn with my girlfriend over a long weekend in August. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was a highlight. Additionally, our room was large and very comfortable. The property is beautiful and location can’t be beat. Don’t miss the coconut cake next door!

I booked the hotel for a special night for my husband’s birthday. ALL the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful, romantic, and clean. I booked a grand king room and was allowed to check in early. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We ventured out to explore Charelston before dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary piece of coconut cake with champagne. Delicious!! After a wonderful dinner at the Pennisula Grill we arrived back to our room only to find the air was not working. I reported to the staff and they immediately sent someone to check the unit. Unfortunately the air could not be repaired that evening and we were immediately relocated to another room. I DO NOT blame the inn for the issue- we did visit during an extreme heat wave! The staff were VERY responsive and made the best effort to provide another room for us. The new room was cool just not quite as large as the previous; however, this was not an issue. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the mattress - The bed was horribly uncomfortable - very disappointing considering the price we paid - Just hard to believe an inn of this caliber would even have mattresses that were so worn. Overall I’d most likely come again and give them another shot due to the warm hospitality and ambience

This is in heart of French Quarter, and conveniently located to great restaurants and the markets. Also walking distance to entertainment.

The Planters Inn is our favorite place to stay in Charleston. It feels like home away from home. The hospitality from all of the staff is top notch, and they go above and beyond to make your stay the best! We've been staying there for years and won't even think about staying anywhere else. Thank you for another wonderful stay!!

My stay at the Planters Inn has been absolutely wonderful. From the polite employees at the front desk to the cleanliness of the room. This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Valet parking was wonderful and worth the price. We were able to check our car in and retrieve it in minutes. The valet attendant or bellhop was extremely kind and helpful with luggage. Our room was beautiful. The 4 post bed and decor made it really feel like an authentic historic Charleston experience. Although the room was historic feeling the cleanliness was not lacking. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. The bathroom was also stunning. I can confidently say my husband and I will be back to the Planters Inn!
