Lovey and clean
We had a spacious Garden, Courtyard Suite on the second floor. The ‘garden’ was at the front door and had an outdoor wedding reception going on our first night. Fortunately we couldn’t hear it from the bedroom. The living room was large with a sofa, chair, tv and mini fridge. The bedroom was large with lots of storage. The only bedroom drawback was the lack of door. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower, good water pressure and a separate toilet closet. The only negative was the barn door which didn’t deaden should to the bedroom. It was very nice but not conducive to me sleeping in while my husband got ready to go out and take photos.

Gem of a hotel
The highest praise for this gem! We chose this lovely hotel over others with similar reviews and price point, such as Hotel Bennet and Charleston Place. We selected it because we thought staying in a smaller inn would enhance the experience in a historical city, and it does also have excellent reviews. This isn’t our usual decision; we often choose Four Seasons or Montage. We made the perfect choice! The inn is gorgeous, has a perfect, walkable location just one block away from the main streets, so we enjoyed less traffic and more quiet. We chose a courtyard view room which was quiet. The room is enormous. Honestly. Huge. Two huge closets, a large chest of drawers, full living room, seating in the bedroom, gorgeous wood floors, marble bath, lovely Molton Brown bathroom products, and piles of fluffy, soft, brand new towels. The bed was also huge and comfortable with very nice quality linens. The front desk manager, Jim, was delightful. He gave us the best recommendations for dinners, a quick pastry in the morning, and places of interest to visit. He is a wealth of knowledge about the history and architecture of Charleston, too. Charleston is a lovely city with history, beauty, and wonderful dining and shopping. I sincerely believe staying at the inn is what made the trip special.

A lovely welcoming hotel in a great location but should have more amenities at this price!
It's a lovely welcoming hotel in a great location. It's walkable to restaurants, attractions, the water and much more. There are gardens nestled between the buildings and in the outdoor Peninsula restaurant area . Our room was warm and comfortable, albeit a bit tired, with many places to stash your items. My biggest complaint with the room is the lack of amenities. At this rate and cotton swabs, make up remover, black face towels and plusher towels??? The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

A gem in Charleston
Everything about the Planter's Inn is wonderful. From the valet to the front desk, every interaction was perfect. The Peninsula Grill is fantastic and Cory at the bar is fabulous. The hotel itself is wonderful in its traditional, elegant stylings, and is a perfect quiet respite after a long day. If you prefer to stay somewhere you can relax without constant noise and distraction, this is the place.
