About the Hotel

Average hotel
Nice hotel. Rooms are small. Bed not great. Average hotel. Elevators very slow. Staff was nice. Food was good. Hotel is loud and not quiet enough if you want something more intimate. I would not stay here again.

Great Place to Stay in Chicago
We really enjoyed our stay at the Chicago Athletic Association. The historical building is very beautiful and all the restaurants have great food. We were there for a family wedding and it was a perfect setting. Everything was handled really well and the location is so close to many great attractions. Well Done

This is a great historic hotel and yet modern conveniences abound. I really liked the hotel room despite the bad view
I enjoyed the historical architecture and the way they were able to preserve the older fixtures where possible. My room was beautiful with wood and leather appointments and had a comfortable bed and a homey feel to it. The bathroom was completely modern with new tiles and shower that worked wonderfully - endless hot water. The sink area is small but carried over that historic look and feel with modern well-functioning faucet, mirror etc. The only negative is the view out the window is to an inside mechanical collection of vents. I closed the curtains the first day and enjoyed the luxurious feel of the heavy brown luxury velour cloth that blocked the sound and light nicely. No traffic noise when you have an inside room. This made sleeping much better than other hotels where you hear the street noise all the way up to the 40th floor! LOL

One of a kind experience!
This hotel offers something a lot of modern hotels just can not and that is history! They have done an excellent job at carefully maintaining the original craftsmanship that makes up the CAA. Although they may not have all of the modern amenities what they do offer is truly a unique experience. They rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. We had a great time with all of the activities and opportunities inside the hotel. The staff was over the top helpful and friendly. Great location across from Millennium Park on Michigan Ave. One of a kind experience!
