Transports you back in time. Classic and timeless. Check in: easy. Room: two room suite which I wish I could have stayed in ALL weekend but had to move to another hotel ( did ask ). Service at bar: awesome. Friendly staff across the board. Yeah, its a bit older but savor it. These places are few and far between.

Our children booked a room here for our 20th anniversary trip, and it was stunning! The manager was very kind and helped arrange everything for us after we arrived, our room had a perfect view of lake Michigan! The atmosphere inside the hotel was lovely , a step back into the grandeur of the past. After having spent time as a commercial cleaner I just want to congratulate whoever is in charge of the wainscoting it was impeccable clean and I know how much work goes into that! The most disappointing thing about our whole stay was that it wasn't longer!! Will stay there again if we ever make it back to Chicago!

We recently stayed at the Drake for a wedding. We had a fabulous time. Great location in the city. Your staff members were excellent. Shout out to Jeff who worked the lobby floor....he gave us an excellent recommendation for lunch with our friends and other suggestions as we moved around the city. And another shout out to Chris, the doorman who was so cute and friendly...insisting on taking our picture in the lobby (Chris...I was the one in the bright red coat!) The front desk staff were pleasant, polite and very helpful too. The wedding was at the Drake...and it was fabulous! My room was a bit dated but still very comfortable. Would definitely come back and stay there. Thanks for a great three-days

We stayed here for three nights very recently. Lobby, restaurants and conference rooms are historic, well maintained and beautiful to visit. But that is where it ends. The rooms themselves leave much to be desired: small yet also a lot of wasted space and then the lack of bathroom hooks is surprising. The finishes are just dated and walls dirty. In older hotels, where the space is vintage, the customer service usually makes up for the physical plant. Yet here it doesn't step up: The front desk gives you flat service, the bell man told me to "get out of my way" when our luggage was being dropped off (wow) and rest of the staff was just going through the motions. So nothing really draws you here other than to come walk the lobby and take in the vintage, historical value of the building....but stay somewhere else.

Daphne at the Concierge stand at the Drake Hotel was very friendly and helpful. I was looking for dinner recommendations nearby and she provided a great list of options. I also found a helpful list of ideas for things to do in the city this weekend.
