Fairmont Chicago’s new design catapulted it to the top of hotel options in The Loop, Chicago’s business and theater district that’s home to many of the city’s cultural attractions. Past an opulent gold-hued lobby awaits a collection of guest rooms dressed in a natural color palette of cream, chocolate and mossy green highlighted by a bold floral print from Warwick Orme. Marble baths come with a separate rainfall shower and soaking tub, and for further relaxation, the spa offers couples’ soaks in a sumptuous suite.

Impeccable service and well maintained understated elegance. Good food. Responsive staff. Valets went above and beyond. Location was convenient for us as well. We definitely look forward to coming back. Corner suite was cozy but comfortable.

This was in a wonderful location for my son (7) and I! We stayed here for two nights and it was perfect walking distance to Maggie Daley Park. My son enjoyed playing in the different areas in the park, renting a scooter and playing mini golf. We were visiting my husband who had a work obligation on Northerly Island and that was a quick 10 minute Uber ride. We booked with Amex Platinum and received $100 food & beverage credit that we used for breakfast in the lobby & room service, both were great! Only complaint would be the $15 fee per day for internet, but that was an oversight on my part. Overall, we would stay here again.

This was our first visit to Chicago and our first ever stay at a Fairmont. It exceeded our expectations in every way. My husband and I traveled with our 3 kids (17, 14, 10). We had two King rooms and there was no issue getting a rollaway for each room to accommodate us all. We hesitantly upgraded to Fairmont Gold because of the price, but thought it would be worth it because it provides a buffet breakfast, which is important to us. Gold was well worth the extra $$. There is a full gourmet breakfast with gourmet self-serve coffee/espresso machine and other juices, smoothie, and beverages. The petite little pastries every day were amazing, authentic and tasted like they were from scratch (perhaps delivered by a French bakery every day?) Hot items different every day, including eggs, meat, also olives, cheeses, fruits, oatmeal, anything you could want. All of this started our day off in the most pleasant way, not having to go out and find a restaurant and being fueled up for sightseeing until we were ready to have lunch. All of the servers were attentive and very kind, especially the lovely woman whose name starts with an M was wonderful. The evening canapes from 5-7 served as our dinner one night when our schedule didn't permit trying to get a reservation and a taxi to a restaurant. It was every bit as impressive as the breakfast buffet. Two rotating hot items different every day, along with many other gourmet charcuterie options. More than enough for a filling dinner, especially when we had had a large restaurant lunch and snacks already that day and wanted something on the lighter side, but still healthy and satisfying. This fit the bill perfectly. Complimentary coffee, tea, water, and sodas are available all day long in the Gold lounge also. We appreciated being able to get bottled (in a carton) water anytime. Our rooms was spacious, clean, and appeared to be recently remodeled. Large bathroom, two sinks, comfortable beds and the air conditioning system was quiet and worked very well. We had spectacular views also! We look forward to staying here on our next visit to Chicago, and will definitely try Fairmont Hotels in other destinations. For anyone traveling with kids, this is the perfect location for sightseeing and with Fairmont Gold for breakfast and dinner (if needed) it is the perfect choice.

I felt so comfortable, I didn't want to leave. I stayed on the gold level and was extremely impressed with the service that Gail, Cameron, Manalana and team delivered. Absolutely worth the extra money. The bell men were fantastic too especially Samuel and Ronaldo. The room was nicely appointed. I will definitely be back!

We got to the hotel around 4pm and our room wasn't ready yet. The supervisor of the receptionist first had to suggest that we should be given another room so that we could keep to our arrival time of 4pm. There was neither a briefing on where to take breakfast or anything similar nor any other instructions. A coffee cup, a bathrobe and a coffee pad were missing from the room. Small things, but essential for a Fairmont experience. When we looked for the breakfast room the next day, neither the waiters nor the receptionists could explain to us what was in our breakfast package. “The reception will take care” was the answer. But they didn't. An overwhelmed receptionist said we hadn't any breakfast included. That’s that. I then had to show her the reservation with breakfast included (even in English in the Accor app), whereupon she just said: I can't read & disappeared. A supervisor was brought in who then said that something had gone wrong with the reservation and that it was half my fault and half her fault. They couldn't explain to me how this was the case. The next supervisor then presented a solution of $38 per person per day as a credit for the a la carte breakfast. The fact that this was not in my confirmation obviously didn't matter. At 27 dollars for an avocado toast (before tax & tip), it's a challenge and legally speaking, it's not in the contract. I am disappointed and it does not meet the hotel standards of such a hotel to take care of problems in this way. If it is an error in the app/reservation then it should be corrected. The restaurant is overwhelmed with breakfast (especially at the weekend) Waiting times of 1 hour are normal for a bagel and there is too few staff too. They try their best, but there is just not enough manpower. All problematic for a hotel like Fairmont. I would go to a different hotel next time. Too expensive for what you get. Alex the Concierge, the waiters at the restaurant and especially the porters (Benjamin) were amazing. Highly motivated, super friendly.
