Pendry Chicago

Our stay as with all our stays at the Montage Group hotels was fabulous. The Pendry is an iconic building of the Chicago skyline. The interior is understated but with class. The staff was professional, attentive and friendly. We could not ask for a more pleasant stay. It was the perfect place to stay for our Chicago getaway. I would particularly like to point out the exceptional service we received from Muriel Tan at the front desk, Annie the Concierge, and Chris at the front door. Thanks to all of you as well as your fellow colleagues!

The Pendry is one those few hotels that actually delivered on all levels that it promised. I took my wife there for an early birthday getaway. First and foremost, we love Chicago, so that was an easy choice. Where to stay? That's the hard choice. I am happy to say that if you choose the Pendry you will get the following. You will get a wonderful reception from the time you walk in the door until the time you check out. Before I arrived, I had several questions about the room, and certain amenities that could be provided. Not only was Muriel extremely helpful on the phone, but she remembered our conversation when I arrived. Not only did she provide exactly what I had requested, but I didn't even have to ask again about it. It was simply taken care of. Not only that, but Muriel also remembered that we had a matinee show to go to, and had Nike, the house driver, on call for us. Nothing made us feel more important than that. I also don't want to dismiss Nike as just a driver. He made you feel safe, and well taken care of from the time we got in the vehicle, until the time we were dropped off. The simple fact that she knew our schedule, and made it magical. From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be something special. The fresh flowers in the lobby and sitting areas smelled amazing. It simply exudes refined and quiet luxury. The hotel location is located right on Michigan avenue, and walking distance to many landmark locations and attractions. It's a little bit of a hike to go north to some of the shopping malls, but that's fine. Of course, if you are looking for food, you don't need to bother leaving the hotel. The dining was top notch. Breakfast was Ventieux was unbelievable. I decided on the hamburger for breakfast (once you eat a burger for breakfast, there is no way back), and was floored. As a retired manager of a restaurant, I know my way around food, and this was perfection. A medium burger arrived cooked medium. Room service the next morning was provided promptly, and very delicious. The eggs benedict shouldn't be missed. Speaking of the room, it was spacious and beautiful. It came well appointed with a large bathroom, and plenty of natural light. The bed was comfortable, and it was spotless to match. No stray hairs or anything. Upon checkout, we received our itemized bill from the hotel, and found nothing was overcharged. I did have a question about a feature credit that we had, and wouldn't you know it, Muriel took the time to send me a more detailed bill that actually cleared everything up to me. How helpful is that? I wasn't brushed off, I wasn't put on the back burner, I was simply helped, and I can't ask for more than that. My wife was extremely happy about the entire trip. She loved feeling like she was the most important person in the lobby each time we walked downstairs. And I don't think it was simply lip service. I truly believe that the people at the Pendry really want you to enjoy your stay. Thank you Muriel, and thank you Nike. As well as the rest of the staff we encountered to make it a perfect weekend for my wife and I.

Lovely hotel but the loudest hotel room I have every stayed in. The windows clearly aren't double glazed and the non-stop sirens throughout the night made it impossible to get rest. I was on the 9th floor. I stay in urban hotels 50% for business travel and have earplugs, white noise, etc. - this was beyond that level of loud.

My daughter and I visited Chicago for the first time on Easter weekend and had the BEST time largely due to the excellent staff at the Pendry. Muriel and Dolopo both made us feel like royalty checking in and getting us settled in our beautiful 22nd floor room. The hotel is both gorgeous and historical but the staff was what truly made it magical for us assisting us with every need and offering fun suggestions of things we could try. It rained most of our stay but Annie at the Concierge desk kept us busy with getting us tickets to Hamilton, the architectural boat tour and telling us about the secret entrance to the Art Institute that avoids the crowds. Chris and Dolopo were amazing bell-people making sure we got cabs (even in the pouring rain!) and greeting us when we returned from our adventures. Housekeeping staff (Maria?) was terrific and scheduled around when we left the room for the day and helped us with a messy room situation we made with grace and kindness. The hotel was excellently situated, right where we wanted to be. The Speakeasy night was fun and the singer was great but the service and food was meh. Venteaux was a big disappointment for both food and service as well. The hotel bar was great both times we went and we did order room service after a show one night and it was delicious arrived timely. I was really blown away by how well taken care of we were throughout the weekend and we cannot wait to go back. I cannot recommend this pace enough.

Beautiful Hotel. Very accommodating and staff was great. Dolapo the concierge was awesome. Took care of our large group in the lobby for a 50th Birthday Party!
