Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile

Used to be a great hotel for me until being woken up at night about possible smoking in my room, was told someone would come up and look through my room. That was at 11:30 pm and I was by myself, so that really scared me. Well, no one came and the next am the manager said guest lie a lot about smoking. I have never smoked or vaped or anything. So I guess I will not return unfortunately. All other staff was nice, but just shows how someone can really ruin your trip. My anxiety was through the roof thinking of being by myself in the room at close to midnight, but I guess no one showed up anyways or even informed me that no one was coming after all.

We were in town for a wedding and chose to stay at the Sofitel due to it's proximity to the church and reception venue. From the moment you arrive, the staff greets you with exceptional service including the valet parking attendants, bell hops, and front desk staff. The lobby was beautiful and welcoming and our room was perfect. We were on the 28th floor with a really nice view of the city. Beds were super comfortable and all the amenities needed were included. Since it was December, the hotel was decorated nicely for the holiday. Will definitely stay again on our next visit to the city.

In a city of skyscrapers, this Sofitel stands tall for many reasons. Most particularly, for the concierge services rendered flawlessly by Alem. His grace and dignity are immediately apparent, and his charisma adds to the experience. There is no box to be checked on this review that captures the sense that this hotel and this concierge define one another in the most positive sense. We look forward to our next visit to Alem's Sofitel.

First time visiting Chicago from the UK & the hotel is in a fantastic location. Had an issue checking in-we'd booked a package holiday but the receptionist told us we needed to pay for our room. Showed him our booking confirmation which showed the room was actually paid for (waiting for our credit card statement to ensure we havent been charged again) The hotel is within walking distance to most tourist areas, bus stops & metro stations. Our room was spotless & had everything we needed although we did have to call down for more coffee a few times (just 2 pods each for all night & the following morning) All the staff including the restaurant, bar & valet were all lovely & friendly
