The Windy City has long been home to Italian and Irish Americans, but there is now a French revolution underway at 20 East Chestnut - where Sofitel Chicago Water Tower resides. This 32-story downtown delight boasts a sleek design with equally modern interiors. Rooms take on a minimalist feel without sacrificing noted amenities. It is pure pleasure with designer furnishings, oversize marble baths, and cityscape views. The lobby, illuminated by the soft glow of candles, boasts relaxing conversational nooks, intriguing artwork and the aroma of fresh flowers.

Rooms are loud and you hear the music from your neighbours. Climatisation is noisy. Reception was not able to change the room rate from breakfast excl. to breakfast included. So quite disappointing for a hotel chain with high standards. But location is very good

Met up with friends after Thanksgiving dinner with our families and decided on a location that was central to where everyone was staying to have drinks. We were greeted by the most amazing and charming staff that we had ever met. Alem seemed to have had a connection to or had visited the home town of everyone in our party. One of our party he actually knew a friend of their’s. We could have spent the evening just engaging with him. Although we did not stay at the hotel we definitely decided that upon our next trip back home to Chicago we all have to stay at Sofitel!!! Thanks Alem for a great experience!!!

I love Chicago! And Sofitel puts me right in the thick of things. There's shopping and great food within steps of the hotel. Michigan Avenue and the Lake are mere blocks away. Our room was beautiful with a picture perfect view of the city. Thank you, Alem, for welcoming us at the front desk with such warmth!

Came to Chicago to show it off to my MIL. Booked two rooms and with my diamond status I figured things would be ok. Nope. Get there at noon. Room isn’t ready. Ok that’s fine. Go eat lunch and proceed to wait 4 hours for our rooms. Despite as a platinum member we should have gotten early check in. No acknowledgment of our status either. Which at the time I didn’t think much of it. But then now I’ve stayed at other Accor hotels in Chicago and elsewhere I’ve come to realize Sofitel Chicago doesn’t care. Sofitel Beverly Hills was great as well as Paris Opera. Even had someone come out and introduce themselves to us in Paris and hand us a card. Swissotel Chicago was awesome as well. The rest of the stay was underwhelming. From the ok food at the breakfast area to the so-so bar. I’m not coming back to this hotel.

I was in Chicago on a work trip and needed somewhere to go to for a quick bite. It was so cold I ducked into the Sofitel for a bit. The concierge, Alem, directed me to their breakfast and lunch restaurant. He explained that it was restaurant week, which I did not know, and that CDA had a special menu for the week. I especially loved the salmon sampler. The service was great, the food was amazing, and Alem even came to check on me. He also gave me a fantastic tour of the lobby, public areas, and even showed me a “show” room. These rooms are amazing, the views were majestic and the vibe was quaint. The next time I come to Chicago, I have instructed my colleagues that I have to stay at the Sofitel for the location and the experience. Thank you Alem!

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile. The accommodations and staff were beyond my expectations. I appreciate the ease with which I made the reservations through Luxury Link and look forward to using your service again in the future!
