Very loud noise and “music” every night till past midnight. Ocean view rooms not listed on internet at time of reservation, must be asked for on arrival, hoping there are vacancies ! Almost all beach chairs reserved almost permanently ! Managerial team should learn from Meliá Las Americas, in Varadero, definitely more classy.

I can’t even put into words how wonderful this resort is. This was our third time there since 2022 and it just gets better and better, a huge shout out to the prince , this man knows how to combine work and fun so unbelievably well. A big thank you to Gippsy who always makes sure our accommodations are what we want, she is a true gem. The lobby has two of the best men that really make my time there memorable, Rube and Marcos are the most wonderful bar men I have ever encountered. And last but not least one of the most special people I have ever met is the one and only Yusmelkeys at the beach restaurant, everyday she makes our lunch a wonderful experience with her warm welcome. We have made everlasting friendships with these staff members. I’d like to mention as well that there were zero shortages.The grounds are 10/10 , beach is 100/10 , rooms are 10/10 and I’m sure will be beyond that after the renovations that are taking place this summer. Melia Cayo Coco is truly a special place

Our family of 4 adults with two classic rooms for 15 days at the Melia returning to Halifax on May 7th. This was our 28th vacation in Cuba, unfortunately we lost 4 years due to COVID so this year was our first time back. Our daughter and son-in law who travel a lot with us wanted a different location and after checking on many resorts and reading TripAdvisor the Melia Cayo Coco was chosen. This was a great selection right from the time of booking where we had a request for a room close to everything and a ground floor and close to our daughter and her husband due to my wife's disability, We were not disappointed as this was arranged and ready for us when we arrived. All in all this resort is one of the best if not the best we have ever experienced in all the years of travel. The resort is exceptionally well laid out with everything guest require, from a staffed medical center to a wellness center to a superb buffet and superb restaurants and grounds that are kept so exceptional by the great gardeners. With 250 rooms there are about 400 staff, we could easily name many staff that looked after all our requirements from food service to room service to administrative staff to give them the credit they deserve we would have to name ALL 400 as they were all exceptional and made our vacation so wonderful and unforgettable. The beach was the best we have ever experienced and so well kept and so clean including the lounge chairs and the beach bar where we gathered everyday at 4/4.30 pm was superb especially with the service. On our last day we were gathered in the reception area and checking on our flight schedule coming from Halifax and discovered it was not listed after multiple checks determined it was cancelled. The AirTran Sat representative arrived and later confirmed that we would not have a flight back to Halifax until the next day. WOW!!! another day at the Melia who would complain. We went to the reception desk and within minutes given our same room back and provided transportation back to the room with our luggage and help to bring the luggage up to the rooms, couldn't ask for anything better. One of our main reasons going to Cuba for so many years is the Cuban people and the Melia didn't disappoint us, The staff go beyond just service they are exceptional in all categories to provide a PERFECT vacation for all guests. As all who go to Cuba know that there can be shortages that are beyond the ability of the resorts to acquire, however, with regards to the Melia, we didn't experience any. Only one negative aspect is the Classic rooms need upgrades and from reports from Management about 40 have been done and their are about 20 on the list to do. From talking to guests at the Cayo Coco airport and the Halifax Airport that were at other resorts there is no doubt WE HAD THE BEST. While we were there during the last week, many Cuban officials and Tour reps were at the resort celebrating the Melia and the new resorts adjacent that will be under the Melia organization, great news for the Melia, hopefully this will not in anyway decrease the 5 Star status of the Melia Cayo Coco. This is my 5th time at MCC, and as always, it was a wonderful trip. The staff are kind and helpful, the food is great, and the resort is well maintained. For the first time, I had an issue with my towel and clips stolen. The customer satisfaction people were great about helping me out. While disappointing, it was a small blip in an overall beautiful vacation. Definitely will be returning.
