Great stay, lovely hotel in Fowey

A really great stay from start to finish. The hotel staff were wonderful, their so attentive toward their guests, and everything was immaculate. Rooms a nice size, we would have preferred a better view but what can you do. The town was easily reached on foot, and a great little Spanish place close by. we also got great tips from reception where to head in Cornwall. Thank you !

Beautiful old world charm with amazing staff.

Lovely unexpected last minute stay for one night, wish we had more time to enjoy. Old world charm and not stuffy. Staff were excellent. Elsie and Laura along with Cristian were so welcoming and accommodating whilst we were there. There is an old part and a new extension to this hotel. We stayed in adjoining rooms in the new wing, which had a nice view of outdoor pool and in the distance Fowey harbour with the moored yachts. Lovely spacious modern rooms, but take note there are no safes in either rooms. Reception will store any valuables. Very comfortable beds and fabulous pillows. All the rooms are called after local beaches and towns. Bramley products were provided, but nothing additional. This hotel caters for families, so children are really catered for with fantastic activities organised for them throughout the day. Swimming pool was lovely, luke warm to swim in, which we grabbed before the sun went down, relaxing by the pool. They also have an indoor pool for those rainy days. Breakfast had good choice in the morning, which we enjoyed. Most staff were pleasant, but there is always one, maybe she is there too long and needs training on professionalism. However, she did listen and our eggs were done to perfection and there was plenty of everything. My husband and daughter used the spa, which was incredible. I went on a tour of the hotel to view other rooms for a future stay. Relaxed for a few hours around the grounds. had a coffee. I went to pay as we had checked out, but they said it was on the house. Very grateful. The weather was stunning and the views from there incredible. I was able to join my family in the outside area of the Spa for an hour and it was heaven. We had to tear ourselves away to go back home. Would have loved more time. Thank you Cristian for giving us such a welcome. Great memories of Fowey. We will be back.

Disappointed

If you are a couple looking for a quite break then this is not for you ! This is a family hotel when we stayed there were lots of younger families, which is fine However there is no provision for guests who don’t want to be in the line of fire with the associated family holiday Hun drum. It’s not a dining experience to dress up for. The staff are friendly and pleasant however nobody seems to have control, and all our food orders went astray, breakfast was an hours wait ! and cold , gave up and went down to cafe in Fowey. The room was nice but not cleaned well on arrival , it had not been hoovered , and the dreaded black curly’s were in the shower tray . This is supposedly a top class hotel and has the possibility to be so. However it needs to be able to cater for everyone not just families. And it needs a good clean everywhere . We had to leave early on a family issue, however we won’t unfortunately be back .

The staff was amazing and very polite. The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious and layed out perfectly. They have all different types of breakfasts like fruit etc. Pancakes was delicious. The rooms was delicious like evening meal. The evening meal was expensive like 100 pound for three meals. They had water apple juice and orange juice. If u have a dog they are very welcome in the restaurant and child friendly too. They have outdoor pool and indoor pool

The best room ever!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I should start by saying that I LOVE Fowey! It’s my favourite place to visit in Cornwall (and I live in Cornwall)! I have stayed at the Fowey Harbour hotel as it now is many times in its previous incarnation and many times at maybe Old Quay House, which I love, but this was my first time at Fowey Hall. The room…. I was lucky enough to be in Polruan, one of the new suites by the Spa. WOW. It may be the best bedroom I’ve ever stayed in (& I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels across the world). I’ll let the photos I took speak for themselves but the attention to detail is extraordinary. The biggest most comfortable bed was like sleeping in a cloud but not soft? I felt weightless (no mean feat!). A huge smart TV, the most comfortable sofa and chairs and the thing that I moan about the most when it’s not there… a big mirror above a desk so that I could sit and get ready in the evening (with a great wireless bright light). Full marks. The bathroom was a real wow too. Huge walk in shower, beautiful freestanding bath and double sinks. The only tiny thing I’d mention is that the bath has completely flat ends so it was impossible to relax and read a book as you had to sit upright or lie flat, but a small thing in an otherwise perfectly wonderful room! The grounds are immaculately kept and the hotel inside is wonderful. I loved the library and cinema - if I was a child, or even still had a young child, I’d move in! Lastly, the staff can make or break a trip for me. Christian was superb and everyone we came across was nice and so helpful and friendly. Just lovely!

We would like to congratulate you on your wonderful staff who have been so nice to us during our two week stay. Not only are they so professional, they are also kind, interesting and have a sense of humor! Nothing seems too much trouble. Thank you.

It was absolutely fantastic – superb food, excellent service and the kids loved the crèche. In fact, it was the first time we’ve left our five-month-old with a "stranger" and they were great with her. Thanks again.
