Our family of 6 adults were booked here by our travel guide, Inca Expert Travel, for three nights at the end of our trip to Peru. The hotel is very conveniently located and we appreciated its historic restoration with modern conveniences. We followed the advice of previous tripadvisor reviewers to make sure we weren't placed in the basement rooms without windows. The included breakfast buffet was one of the most extensive during our trip. We especially loved the family who brought their baby alpaca for a visit in the courtyard.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location in old Cusco not far from the square. The hotel is stunning. Rooms are large and ours overlooked the courtyard. This was a former convent so it had a unique design . This is not the average Marriott. This is an excellent hotel.

We were very disappointed with our stay. We repeatedly asked for towels and ropes and they were never brought in a timely manner, which became stressful because we constantly had to follow up ourselves. There also seemed to be a lack of communication between staff — at one point the bartender and restaurant/reception staff were openly arguing, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for guests. The restaurant service was also extremely poor. Many times we had to stand around searching for the restaurant receptionist just to be seated, and she consistently seemed to have an attitude toward guests. The waiter serving our table also appeared irritated when we politely mentioned that the drinks were cold. Instead of trying to improve the experience, the service made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The breakfast buffet was especially disappointing and honestly not worth it. Most of the food was cold and lacked flavor. The rice was hard, the eggs were cold, the cheese was extremely hard and dry, the tea was cold, and the hot chocolate was overly sweet. The juices tasted like boxed juice instead of fresh juice, and the coffee had a burnt, watery taste. The only consistently good part of breakfast was the egg station. Sadly, we ended up going to local street markets for breakfast because the food there was fresher, warmer, and had much more flavor than the hotel buffet. For a hotel at this level, that was extremely disappointing. Overall, instead of feeling relaxed, the stay felt stressful because we constantly had to “babysit” basic things like towels and food service. We expected a much higher level of hospitality, communication, and care.

This is my second time staying at the JW Marriott in Cusco and my stay wasn't as good as before. Reason being was the food. The breakfast buffet had many choices but the food just wasn't tasteful. For dinner, there weren't many choices on the menu. I remember when I was here before (2018), the food was much better and there were more choices. Otherwise my room was comfortable, sleep quality great, and housekeeping was good. Employees were friendly. The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk to Plaza de Armas. Be sure to take the free tour of the hotel at 6pm daily, very interesting!

One of the best hotels I've ever experienced. A hidden treasure blended with beauty and luxury with a modern lifestyle touch, tucked away in a city rich in culture.

Of the many fine attributes of the JW Marriott Cusco, the blending of historical architecture with modern comforts and high design is most unusual and perfectly executed. From the soft lighting to the rich dark woods and stone in the public areas, the understated atmosphere distinguishes itself as belonging uniquely to the Cusco property. And that holds true all the way to the lower levels where the lovely spa is intimately nestled. Not only was the staff properly warm, friendly and bi-lingual, but equally important highly skilled at their duties (which is surprisingly not always the case in fine hotels).
