Disappointed compared to past stays

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Our daughter lives in Dallas so this has been our go-to hotel when visiting her the past couple of years. We are Titanium Elite for any Marriott Bonvoy members reading. We normally stay Friday - Sunday but this time it was just Sunday - Monday. No one was there. I get that because weekend travelers usually check out on Sunday and business travelers check in on Monday. So considering how many open rooms there were, I can’t imagine why we were put right next to the elevator in a room with so many issues I had the front desk lady make a list for maintenance. I almost asked to change rooms when I saw we were right by the elevator but it was only one night. Luckily that wasn’t an issue because no one was at the hotel. But that’s how much they value their titanium elite members. Then there was the maintenance list: 1) our bathroom sink was clogged up; so badly there is no way housekeeping wouldn’t have noticed unless they just didn’t clean the sinks. 2) the left faucet handle of the sink was leaking water excessively. Ditto on the housekeeping comment above. 3) The pump for the shower gel in the shower was broken. 4) the plug by the dresser under the TV is cracked so it wouldn’t hold a plug. And of course right by the elevator. So I hope this isn’t the beginning of the end for this property. It’s not being maintained between guests. I guess I’ll have to shop around for another Marriott in Dallas that values Bonvoy members and wouldn’t give the room we had to any of their customers.

Great weekend away

We were in town for a concert and luckily found this hotel. It's located in the heart of everything. Our time out was great but our time at the Meridian was just as much fun. Galane and Robert at the bar were awesome, both as tour guides to the local spots, and entertaining engaging bartenders.. we'll be back!

Don’t stay here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This place should be avoided at all costs! We are currently staying here and we find out the water is shut off from 10 until 6. That’s right - you can’t wash your hands or flush the toilet. And did they compensate anyone - of course not. Just “extra” bottled water at the front desk. Could they have contacted people with reservations to give them the option of finding another hotel - yes. Could they have provided free breakfast or half price on the room - yes. Last I checked we were paying for a room with a working bathroom - so some common courtesy to compensate customers would have been normal business practice. When I asked at check in what we were supposed to do about flushing the toilet was met with a shrug and “we will see”. I understand the need to do maintenance - but to charge customers full price for a room with no working bathroom AND not warn you in advance is inexcusable. We will never be back after staying here probably 10 times over the years - and I would recommend no one ever reserve this place. The service sucks, it is impossible to reach it due to construction outside and no water is the last straw. STAY AWAY!

Best Hotel Bar in Dallas

My fiancée and I stay here all the time and absolutely love it. Galane at the bar always takes the best care of us too. 10/10 would recommend.

Anthony the bartender

The Lobby Bar bartender made the best whiskey sour I’ve ever tasted! Anthony was fun to talk to and made the best drinks ever! I’ve told friends to come to this bar because of Anthony!
