We’ve picked Rosewood mansion because it appeared elegant old world, high-quality, and spacious. Our daughter picks us up from Dallas Fort Worth airport in her Escalade and brings us to the Rosewood mansion. She has prepared a beautiful basket with a bottle of champagne, two champagne, glasses, and some cheese and crackers. We arrive at Rosewood mansion. The valet brings our two bags and the gift basket in and immediately we are surrounded. They confiscate the gift bag and say it's illegal to bring champagne into any accommodation establishment in Texas. We questioned that because we have gone to very high-end resorts and hotels in Texas in the past and we were able to bring our own champagne or bottle of wine to our room to enjoy. They informed us very rudely that at this establishment all alcohol and food must be purchased from the establishment. Certainly, not a very good start to our three night visit. Our daughter, of course, was disappointed because she had made special effort to make it special for our visit. For Rosewood mansion, money is the most important thing. Everything else is secondary. Look at their website. On the front it tells you early check-in X amount of dollars late checkout X amount of dollars the whole thing is about dollars. I appreciate spending high dollars when the experience is worthy in fact that’s why we pick the highest quality and most expensive establishments is because we value the quality, experience and beauty. This place the attitude is all wrong. The place is beautiful. But the whole attitude is about money instead of about Service. We will not be going back and we would not recommend it sadly. Life is too short for everything to be valued on solely money. Life is so much bigger than that.

We stayed two nights as part of a greater USA and Mexico trip. Hotel itself was nice, although a little dated in parts. Room was a good size and drinks and biscuits in the lobby was a nice touch. We had booked through a travel agent, and our room rate had been pre paid. Upon check out we were charged again for the nightly rate (charged twice). I understand that mistakes can be made, however what disappointed me the most was that the reception staff made no attempt to listen, assist or work with me to sort it out, despite me showing evidence that I had paid in full. It took me one hour to sort this out with the reception desk - but they really didn't want to know and were completely dismissive. I did end up getting a refund from the hotel as they eventually recognised their error, however it was a disappointing end to our stay.

My fiancée and I planned our entire trip around having Valentine’s Day brunch here. We literally booked a hotel nearby just to be close to the restaurant. To find out you are cancelling reservations for a full hotel buyout is beyond frustrating. You clearly prioritize private events over your actual guests on one of the biggest days of the year. Offering two glasses of champagne for a future visit is honestly a joke considering the time and money we spent planning this travel. Thanks for ruining our plans.

The Mansion in Dallas is a nice enough venue, but the rooms and décor feel dated and very much from prior years. For the price point, we expected a more refreshed and luxurious experience. The Christmas Eve dinner was especially disappointing. Several courses were poorly executed and felt haphazard, lacking the quality and care you would expect from a property with this reputation. Overall, the meal was not worth the cost. Between the outdated rooms and the underwhelming dining experience, we did not feel the stay justified the expense. Unfortunately, this is not a place we are likely to return to.
