Niyama Private Islands Maldives

Dining at Subsix was an unforgettable experience. If you visit Niyama, I highly recommend going to Subsix. And among the many staff members, meeting Ammi was truly a blessing. Thanks to him, our time at Niyama was even more enjoyable and memorable.

We had the pleasure of being looked after by Shanun during our entire stay at the resort, and he was simply outstanding. Always friendly, always calm, and somehow always appearing exactly when you needed something. He handled every detail with care and made everything feel effortless. A genuinely super cool person who made our days in the Maldives even better. Highly recommended – thank you, Shanun!

We spent 5 nights at Niyama in September 2025 and had a really amazing time. After more than 30+ luxury resorts visited in the Maldives, including some of the very best (Kudadoo, Four Seasons Landaa, Soneva Jani, One&Only, Waldorf Astoria, Anantara Kihavah, The Nautilus,...) we have super high expectations everytime we visit a resort in the Maldives. Niyama had been on our list for a very long time and we're super glad we finally made it there and got to discover the beautiful islandS of Niyama. What we loved: 1) the island and shades of blue are stunning 2) The underwater restaurant has some of the best food we've had in the Maldives 3) The villas are nice and newly renovated 4) The food outlets, particularly The Nest and Tribal have a very unique vibe which is amazing 5) Our buttler (Ammi) was amazing even though it was quite a disappointment than he was missing at the moment of our departure and did not send any message to apologize about this. 6) The fact that when the resort is running at high occupancy, 2 places are open for breakfast, to make sure you don't feel the crowd. 7) The surf spot literally AT the resort (for surfers, it's ideal) What we liked less: 1) Service is not the best when compared to other resort. In restaurants, they are all very nice and friendly, but it's more the team you bump into while exploring the island that is not at the level you would expect in such high end resorts. Most would not even look at you / smile at you. Definitely, there is room for improvement for that by training all staff to acknowledge/smile at guests when they bump into them around the island. 2) There is no house reef for snorkeling. So, if you love snorkeling, it may not be for you. Overall, our experience at Niyama was really great BUT it is a resort family focused and not for people who love snorkeling. For people looking for a beautiful island with great food, Niyama is definitely an excellent resort with an overall very good value for money. Improving on the service part would help make it move to the next level and deliver an even better experience to the guests. For us, THE main reason to visit Niyama is the pure natural beauty of the island. It is definitely one of the most stunning islands in the Maldives, so if this is what you're looking for, you can't go wrong with Niyama! :)

I recently visited Niyama Private Islands Maldives and had the best experience ever. The food was comparable to a Michelin star restaurant. The staff could not have been friendlier and more efficient. They quickly learned our names and made us feel so welcome. We never felt like it was crowded there and felt very special by everyone. We had all the privacy we needed. It was literally the best resort I've ever stayed at and I've stayed at a lot of 5 star resorts. The following staff really stood out to us: Salta, Mita and Ebosh. Valerie did a fantastic job on our photoshoot. If you are going to the Maldives, defintiely plan to stay at Niyama.
