Gracefully created from four restored Georgian townhouses, The Merrion is an historic retreat in the heart of Dublin. Only a tiny brass nameplate marks the hotel's unassuming brick exterior, but inside, marble floors and columns and ornate rococo plasterwork ceilings show off the grand style of 18th century Ireland. Each element of the hotel inspires admiration--from the bedrooms adorned with Irish fabrics and antiques to Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud to the soothing ambience of Tethra Spa. Take time to enjoy the notable works of 19th and 20th century art, considered to be one of the most important private collections in Ireland.

I cannot begin to explain how lovely this hotel really is! ALL the staff was exceptional--professional and very friendly. We enjoyed Fiona, the hostess in the breakfast room, the mornings we were there. She was a delight. So friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were stunning and very well appointed. The soaps especially were luxurious. A little strange to mention, however, this shows the level of the care put into the rooms. We dined in the Cellar Bar one evening and wished we had made different arrangements the second night to dine on property again. The food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was beautiful too. The hotel art work is special and it is a really nice way to spend a morning walking the hotel. So many special little spots within the city. We did not get to use the spa or the pool area. Next time we will! Honestly, you need to treat yourself with staying here one night while in Dublin.

The hotel is a real amazing place given the tranquility of the rooms and of the large indoor garden for having coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon. Every sights are in walking distance, valet parking is available since we hired a car.

We spent our 30th anniversary in Dublin and wished we would have stayed longer! The Merrion Hotel was beautiful inside! We enjoyed the Garden Room for breakfast each morning and dined for dinner one evening. The dinner menu had so many great options, it was hard to choose. We took part in the Art Tea on our last day which was absolutely delightful. The variety of teas were plentiful, the pastries and sandwiches were delicious and we left so stuffed! We will assuredly return to The Merrion on our next trip to Dublin!

Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Staff that anticipated our every need, were extremely friendly. The hotels attention to detail made the stay memorable and I will be returning very soon. We had dinner at the mitchelin star establishment on sight that was amazing with the service and the food

Excellent hotel which is discreet but has wonderful service and great rooms. The bars are good and the outside areas great if the weather is good. Patrick Guilbaud next door is a superb restaurant with excellent food. As always this all comes with a price…
