We stayed here for 3 nights B&B after our 7 night cruise out of Dubrovnik. We arrived at 10:30am and upon walking into reception our 1st impression was WOW! This is a really nice and airy entrance and reception area. Nice and cool compared to the outside temperature. Reception staff were very friendly and we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and a smile. Check-in was easy, then a staff member showed us how the lifts worked and explained where certain areas were within the hotel. We went directly to the pool area as the room was not ready, found some sunbeds and ordered a drink. The sunbeds were lovely and comfortable, wooden with a thick lounger cushions and each pair of beds shared a umbrella. The pool deck area is very nice. We had lunch in the pool side restaurant. The staff were very friendly. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, some Greek fries (feta cheese and chilli's) and a feta salad. A large beer and small shandy which came to 90 Euros. We thought this was quite expensive for what we had. Whilst eating lunch, I received a phone call to advise the room was ready. Picked up the room key from reception and went to the room. Once again as I walked in it was another WOW. The room was large, a huge bed and a lovely view out to sea. It would have been nice t see a walk-in shower rather than a shower in the bath. Breakfast was buffet style and they had pretty much everything you could have wanted. Staff were efficient and friendly. There is a choice of sitting inside or on the balcony with views out to sea. We spent most of our time at the pool, but getting sunbeds can be difficult as with most hotels people reserve beds and then disappear. I feel the staff could do more to stop this happening. When you check-in you are given pool towel cards which you exchange for a towel and then when you return the towel you get cards back. If you don't hand the towels in they will charge you. One thing that could be improved is the pool waiters awareness of customers waiting to order or getting drinks. We had to remind a waiter on 2 different occasions we were waiting for our drink order. A surprise to us was the served drinks in glass around the pool deck area. There is no beach, just rocks. There are a few areas where they have steps to get in and out of the water. You can walk into Dubrovnik in about 20 minutes, but the is a small hill from the hotel to the road to the Old City and a fairly long downhill bit, which means you walk back to the hotel you have to go up the hill. We ate in the main restaurant on the Saturday and enjoyed their Istanbul themed menu which was buffet style. A good selection of food from starters to mains and then deserts. Are

Had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik. Learned a lot of history I did not know a d met some great people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rixos. Our concierge, Paulina, made sure all of our needs were met in excellence. We loved her kindness and bubbly spirit. Our suite had amazing views of the sea and the balcony was a great place to enjoy a cool breeze in the evening as it was very hot during the day. Though there wasn't really a beach, the water access was nice and I enjoyed a nice swim.
