My wife and I recently enjoyed a three-night stay in Edinburgh at 100 Princes Street. This is a ~30-room boutique hotel that was very well appointed. Each room has a unique, tartan-forward decor with beautiful stone bathrooms (with heated towel bars and heated floors!) The room's walls are fabric-covered, so there was no detectable noise in our room (save the seagulls outside on our patio). Service levels were off the charts; the guest services team was outstanding and helpful with anything we needed. Our interactions with the staff were overwhelmingly positive. The location was walkable to everything we wanted to see. We enjoyed breakfast all three days. The menu is pretty extensive, food is very solid, and the views of the castle from the restaurant/bar were impressive. The whisky tasting was a highlight. Dario was fun, answered all of our questions, and helped us better refine our understanding of which whiskeys we enjoy most. Communication with Alistair and his team started about a month before arrival and conveyed a willingness to help us plan anything that we needed.

I don't usually write reviews but my stay at 100 Princes Street and the care and attention to detail was so exceptional I am writing one. I have been lucky enough to stay at some very special hotels over the years- but the service I received here was something extra special. From arrival to departure every single person who works there went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for and to ensure everything was well organised and smoothly provided. All done in a friendly and informative way as if nothing was too much trouble. I felt entirely spoilt- and I was only staying one night but I was made to feel so welcome. The facilities and rooms are lovely and have a real heritage and luxury feel- and are also very clean and well thought out with lovely touches. I really enjoyed the central location and views of the castle and up to the Old Town. Whilst in the bar and restaurant at this time of year one is aware of the christmas market- but I didn't mind this as the hotel feels like a quiet sanctuary away from all the activity- and the rooms are utterly peaceful. I am not naming any particular employee because they really were all exceptional and lovely- thank you all for such a lovely short break. I really want to come back soon and was so blown away I have told many of my friends.

Everything was perfect. The team here sets the standard for what five star service means. Would absolutely stay again.

This was hands-down the best hotel experience I've ever had. From the moment I arrived at the door to the day I left, I felt pampered and cared for. The room was beautiful! I stayed in the single room, and it was perfect for a solo traveler (or a couple who pack light!). It is a small room, but perfect for what it was. The bed was very comfortable, and I was so delighted to find I had turn down service each night, and a little bedtime treat waiting for me. My room was next to the bar and dining areas so I was a little concerned about noise, but I didn't hear a single thing while in the room. It was the most quiet hotel room I've ever had! The best part about this hotel though is the staff. They all go above and beyond for the guests, and that made this such a special stay. I really enjoyed chatting with each of them, and loved how they made me feel like a special guest the whole time I was there. And a very special shout-out to Hannah, who truly is a wealth of information for the guests! The location was great. The tram from the airport stops almost direct across from the hotel, so that was very easy to navigate. The walk up the hill to Old Town wasn't too difficult and made for a perfect base to explore the city. The only negative I have was the breakfast. I didn't feel it lived up to the rest of the experience, but with so many great options nearby, this wasn't an issue that would ever deter me from returning. In fact, I'm already planning my next visit. :)

We booked our stay in Edinburgh at 100 Princes Street based on reviews and the reviews couldn’t have been more true! What a magical and unforgettable place with the most professional and friendly hospitality you will ever experience. You will feel that you have been whisked away into a surprise journey of gorgeous views of Edinburgh and of the castle from every window as well as beautiful interior design and decor that is meticulous in detail. The kind and helpful staff will treat you as if you are family and you will find it’s so very hard to leave. We stayed in the executive double castle room and we loved the view of the castle! The room was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed and plenty of room for all of our belongings. The heated floor in the bathroom was so nice and the nightly treat was a lovely touch. Breakfast was included and was another delightful experience each morning with excellent food and service giving the feeling of being at a private club. We will always think of 100 Princes Street and don’t hesitate to make your reservation because you will be so very glad you did!
