We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this exquisite property. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated — from the elegant atmosphere and outstanding cuisine to the breathtaking views and superb location. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the warmth and attentiveness of the team, who made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay.

This was our first stay at 100 Princess Street. For context, we are very regular clients to The Milestone Hotel in London, a hotel part of the same family. The best feedback I can give is that we will stay here many more times during the years ahead of us. What a magical and unforgettable place. From arriving and checking in, to the time of checking out, it was all excellent. At 100 Princes Street you will find the most professional and friendly hospitality, high quality food, a hotel with an ideal location and the best room you will find in Edinburgh. Saying that the room is beautiful is not enough - it is captivating. Although it's in the middle of town, the tranquillity when you enter this place is impressive. Having just arrived from another five star hotel, how friendly the staff in Scotland are was even more obvious. This is not a hotel where you just stay overnight, you must experience every detail, from decorations in the room to the experienced staff members.

Perfectly situated a few hundred yards from Waverly Station and looking up at the majestic Edinburgh Castle, 100 Princes is in a prime, central Edinburgh location. The excellent new tram runs right by the front door and takes travelers to the airport, in one direction, and the Royal Brittania Yacht in the other. St. James Quarter, St. Andrews Square and the high street stops of Queen Street are easily walkable. The atmosphere of the hotel is warm and enchanting. The decor is stunning, with walls upholstered in flannel and tartan. The service is impeccable. Everyone on staff is gracious, outgoing, and well-versed in the names and preferences of guests. The food and amenities are over the top, with an excellent selection of whiskey, Scotch and otherwise (I had a 15-year Pappy Van Winkle), and a stellar cocktail program. The noise from outside does not penetrate the solid structure of this stately former private club. The rooms are beautiful and housekeeping is very attentive and does an excellent job of keeping everything in pristine condition. And the many treats left in the room are scrumptious. Given the level of luxury, the booking prices seem very reasonable. I appreciated the privacy afforded by a policy of only serving hotel guests in the dining facilities. Similarly, the discrete entrance adds to the sense of being hidden away, yet still offers an elegant welcome to this fine hotel. It very much creates a sense of being transported to a luxurious country manor house simply by stepping through the heavy door on Princes Street. The one suggestion I would make to the management is that the wines-by-the-glass selection is not at the same calibre as every other offering, but I would also bet that will improve with a little more time. One would never know this hotel is brand new because everything is totally buttoned up and the place operates with complete synchrony. I would highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Scotland.
