Short Stay at the Bonham

As always the Bonham provided a friendly welcome, a lovely room, good food and a reminder why this is the only hotel for us in Edinburgh.

Beautiful Hotel. Exactly as the pictures.

Its rare that what you see in pictures is what you usually experience. But with Bonham, it just might be better. This is a boutique 5 Star Hotel, a few minutes walk from the city center. As all other reviews have mentioned, the decor at the Bonham is very classy and comfortable. The breakfast including the vegetarian options are very good and the selections from the a la carte are hot and served fresh. Special thanks to breakfast team for managing to get my vegetarian breakfast right each time. The rooms are bright and very cozy. The mattress topper covers up for the bit hard bedding. Even though some reviews have mentioned noises from the other rooms, I thought the rooms were extraordinarily quiet throughout my stay. The bathroom amenities too are praiseworthy, and so are the nespresso coffee machine in the room and all other amenities for a very comfortable stay. So why a star less if everything was so amazing. The room sizes are not at all as advertised. The Juniour Suites that I had booked are advertised being 40 sqm on booking.com or 430 sqft on makemytrip from where I booked. I was initially allotted Room 315, which I dont think was more than 200 sqft. Upon expressing my dissappointment, Francesco swiftly moved me to Room 212, which too I would say would be 250 to 275 sqft at best. Upon mentioning the same, and feeling that I was not given the Junior suite the staff went ahead and showed me the whole list of their Suites and confirmed that I was indeed given the Junior Suite. Thomas further expressed that If I am still not happy, they will move me to another room a couple of days later, which they did and moved me to 206. I would say that even 206 was no bigger than 212. I did not have a chance to speak to Thomas after that, maybe because he was on leave. The staff though expressed their disappointment that they cannot put up the entire range of the sizes of rooms on the booking websites. In that case I would recommend they put either the average size or the size of their smallest room. Being a frequent traveller I understand room sizes vary, but being given a 250-275 odd sqft room compared to advertised 430 sqft is sort of misleading. So would I recommend Bonham. Absolutely! Do not let my comment of Room Sizes disappoint you as that is something the hotel Management needs to look into and its something future traveller's need to be aware of. You just might not get the big room you are advertised or expecting. Rest, this is a fantastic place with fantastic staff and I would surely come and stay here again if visiting Edinburgh.

Nice Hotel

Chose this hotel for it's location away from the Old Town but within convenient walking distance. We were able to park our rental car (with a daily charge) and enjoyed a very, very spacious room after staying in multiple places with very tiny rooms. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and even had a bathtub plus there was a nice sitting area with a Nespresso coffeemaker. I'd stay here again as I've now been to Edinburgh a few times and have seen all the must-see tourist sights.

Lovely boutique hotel in Edinburgh

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Bonham is a beautiful boutique hotel in a lovely, quiet part of Edinburgh. The location is quiet but close to all of the sights in Edinburgh. The decor is rich but comfortable. Service was wonderful. Our included breakfast was delicious and included an extensive buffet and hot ordered items. Our room and bathroom were small but well appointed, overlooking the park. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Our only complaint was our room and the whole hotel were overheated. The window in our room did open (and the park side of the hotel was very quiet) and we had a fan we used the second night which made the room comfortable.
