Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. The transformation of the hotel is already well underway and is taking place over a phased approach to ensure we can continue to operate as business as usual.
The Caledonian Edinburgh is one of Edinburgh's most significant and recognizable landmarks. Standing proudly at the west end of Princes Street, the heart of the capital, its reputation for style and excellence has attracted generations of locals, international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years. Built in 1903 and formerly part of the grand Caledonian Railway, the hotel is full of memories, including Peacock Alley which represents the historic heart, once the station concourse and ticket office. Surround yourself with heritage and over 100 years of hospitality, and become part of our story.

My boyfriend and I just had a lovely stay at the Caledonian. I would recommend going to to the court lounge in the hotel to have a drink, as it will not disappoint. Massive thank you to Ruaridh as his espresso martinis were excellent ! The customer service was very warm and welcoming throughout our stay, we will definitely be back !

I recently checked out of a three night stay at this hotel and was disappointed with my experience. The second day, I received a threatening notice from Catherine Fraser (Front House Manager) under the door accusing me of smoking in the room, saying I would be charged 250, and acknowledging that the authorities were contacted. I did nothing of the sort, and for a 5 star hotel to go straight to this level of accusation is disappointing and impacted the remainder of our stay. What they considered "evidence" of smoking was actually a closed glass bottle in the waste basket that we carried with us around town as to not litter on any property. It was simply being disposed of at the end of the day. Additionally, the day we received a notice a dirty rag from housekeeping was left in our room. If you stay at this hotel, I'd caution you not to even bring cigarettes in your room for fear of having the authorities alerted and a 250 fine.

Had a tremendous experience at this hotel! Can’t say enough good things The staff was unbelievable, especially the front desk. My wife and I stayed one night with our dog and are Hilton Diamond elites. We were upgraded to a massive suite. I think because they loved our dog :) Breakfast was really good as well. The hotel has tons of history and is beautiful. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!! We are about a month into a 5 month trip but I already think this will stand out as the #1 highlight as far as hotel stays go.

Rooms: 9/10 Location: 10/10 Service: 10/10 This hotel is beautiful. It maintains a lot of character from the railway era in the common spaces but the rooms are modern, clean, and extremely comfortable. The staff is very professional and friendly. One of our rooms was upgraded to the Billy Garioch Suite, which was enormous and stunning. Rooms with views of the castle are a very nice bonus. The Court bar / restaurant is designed beautifully, breakfast has a great variety. No complaints at all, not cheap but more than worth it for what you get
