About the Hotel
Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. The transformation of the hotel is already well underway and is taking place over a phased approach to ensure we can continue to operate as business as usual.

The Caledonian Edinburgh exceeded expectations! The staff was incredibly welcoming, especially Joseph Dwyer, who genuinely cared about our experience, guided us through the accommodations, and offered excellent city tips. The concierge was outstanding, the hotel spotless, beautiful, and perfectly located. Highly recommend!

Exceptional staff make for a wonderful stay
30 years ago we had our wedding reception at the Caley and returned to spend a couple of days reliving our lost youth. We took a room with a view of the castle and what a view it was! Our room was spotlessly clean; the breakfasts were exceptionally good and the spa facilities were excellent. The standout, however, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was welcoming. The concierge staff in particular, went way above and beyond. I had arranged for some flowers to be put in the room, but they were accompanied by a photograph of my wife and I an hour or so into our married life. Their kindness and their determination to make our stay a special one was more than we could have hoped for.

My friends and I had a rather lovely evening tea. The staff (Emilie, Lukasz and Valentina) were very friendly and helpful, particularly in their knowledge of Edinburgh and the Fringe festival. Thank you!

Exceptional
This hotel is amazing when it comes to memorable evenings. Came for a private party in the boardroom and it was exceptional. Every staff member served the food with pride. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to celebrate something special!

Lacklustre
Beautiful hotel. Check in required id, something not experienced before. Upgraded room (which I paid for) was lovely. Service in bar area brought a new meaning to “leisurely” and for drinks we were surrounded by children playing. Quite bizarre. In the evening whilst the main bar was open, we were told drinks service had ended and if we wanted a drink, use room service or go to one of the many bars off site. I just didn’t feel a valued customer until checkout when the receptionist was really pleasant. And sadly, I don’t think I will be back
