Kimpton Charlotte Square

Perfectly pleasant hotel. Staff all very friendly and helpful with a special shout out to bellman Jack. What a positive and engaging young man. Every time we saw him he asked about our day and remembered what we had told him before. He is a keeper! Room cleaners of 306 from 7/-7/3 also did a very nice job each day.

We did back to back Kimptons from Edinburgh to Glasgow and was perfect selection. Both had superb breakfasts, attentive to food allergies, were friendly and service oriented, plenty of practical and accommodating traveler amenities, spacious and clean. Welcoming front desk, concierge, breakfast staff (Nicola at our Edinburgh breakfasts was especially attentive and so helpful with making our food allergy kiddo look forward to breakfasts). Charlotte Square Kimpton was smartly decorated with a lovely atrium drenched with natural light, plants and nice seating. Enjoyed walking through or sitting in that space before and after busy days of sightseeing. Bedding and beds noticeably comfortable. Location excellent.

Hip and lively hotel. Enjoyed the happy hour in the bar, staff were all very nice. Very central location, lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Johnny Walker experience right around the corner, go to the deck to get fabulous photos of the Castle. Make sure to specify if you want a King, we were originally given a Queen.

Hospitality is an unforgiving business, which is why people are often the difference maker. This property is a great example of how much difference great people and great training can make. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfect location, and the physical property is terrific. But a four star hotel with five star staff is always better than the opposite. From the sleep quality to the lobby bar and the professional/thoughtful welcome, this property punches above its weight — full stop. Also, having a temperature control system that is understandable and, you know, actually works is a godsend.

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and bridal shower , at Kimpton Charlotte Square. We used their private dining and drawing room to host a private dinner for 10 friends. The view from the window, overlooked Charlotte Square. The food was excellent, from presentation down to taste. The staff couldn’t have done enough for us, especially Harish, who was there when needed, but was also discreet, polite and couldn’t have helped us any more. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering having a private dinner party in Edinburgh. I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again!
