Sample our Twilight Tea, a unique take on the classic afternoon tea with a focus on savoury flavours from 12pm to 10pm every day. BABA restaurant is a sumptuous, relaxed journey to the Levant, featuring mezze, charcoal dishes and small plates with bold Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours perfect for sharing. Cocktails take on the adventurous flavours to continue the journey until late in the BABA bar.

Stunning Hotel in the Scottish Capital

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

I travel a lot for work and usually stay at IHG properties so when my friend and I had something on in Edinburgh the first choice was this hotel and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and the staff could not do enough for us. The hotel room was nice and cool, welcomed on the day we stayed as it was so warm outside. A special shout out to Michał in the bar who was so welcoming and excited for us to try the cocktails he was shaking up for us. He really is a credit to the hotel. We will be back again very soon.

Absolutely faultless

Stayed here for my 40th birthday and was not disappointed. On arrival we were shown around the hotel and shown were breakfast would be served, were the spa was and the bars. We were also told about the social hour - basically between 5-6pm certain drinks were free for hotel guests. We were upgraded to a junior suite - very clean and comfortable; nicely decorated. One of my favourite items in the room was the Dyson hair dryer. The shower was also very powerful and bed extremely comfortable. Mini bar, coffee machine and kettle provided with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Breakfast was a continental Buffett, but you could order certain items. Food was very nice, plenty of choice. Plenty of staff working to help out. The spa was nice; clean and staff were helpful. I had a deep tissue massage - very relaxing and would highly recommend Nothing was a problem for the staff; very polite and helpful. There is an extensive list in the bedrooms if you forget anything from yoga mat to tweezers. The hotel is nicely and colourful decorated. It’s about a 15minute walk from Waverley station; umbrellas can be borrowed if raining. Quiet at night not noisy. Honestly could not fault this hotel. Will defiantly be back.

Outstanding, especially the staff.

This is one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. The hotel is beautiful inside and outside, yet feels like an authentic Edinburgh hotel and not a chain. The lobby opens up to an atrium which is a fantastic place to sit. We had breakfast included with our reservation and it was amazing. But what really set this hotel apart from others is the staff. Not only are they outwardly friendly, which really sets the tone, but they are amazingly helpful. We had a knee injury that occurred prior to arrival to deal with. The staff scrambled to help us out with a wheelchair and all the ice we needed. That caring made a huge difference to us. The location is close enough to the castle and the Royal Mile to be able to walk to it. But Uber and taxis are readily available in Edinburgh if you choose not to walk. Just outside of the hotel is a sort of alley that is full of restaurants and pubs. We went to the pub Dirty Dicks twice. We also had lunch nearby. When we return to Edinburgh, we are going to insist on staying here. Congratulations to the hard working staff for making everyone feel special.

Solo but not

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with very friendly staff. I will admit it I’m a hotel snob 🤷🏾‍♀️ but when sleeping in a strange location and spending money, I’m allowed to be. I walked from the train station which is more than half a mile but less than a mile from the hotel. Wonderful google had me cross over rose street so I was turned around a bit. Note to others make a right and don’t cross the street. The hotel is tucked in what would be something similar to a brownstone. Just look for a posh gentleman or gentlewoman standing out front. The room is very well appointed including a towel warmer. I mean who doesn’t want a warm towel after a shower. There’s a great seating area and comfortable bed. I did struggle turning on the tv but I took that as a sign that one shouldn’t be watching tv while on holiday. Although if you’re in the US we know we don’t get holiday, we get a few weeks of vacation and don’t push it with how much you take at once 🙄 PS they have a social hour between 5 and 6pm so complimentary beer and wine whoop whoop If I’m in Edinburgh I’m definitely returning, thanks for a great stay Kimpton

Great hotel

Enjoyed our Easter visit to the hotel and after reading previous reviews we ensured we’d booked the valet parking service Service was friendly and very good. Rooms were comfortable, enjoyed a nice cocktail in Baba and was great to be able to take a short walk down the corridor for a meal at Aizle as it was pouring down outside. Breakfast is served in Baba and was pretty good. We visited the spa for a couples massage which was good. I was hoping for a bigger spa so we could relax around the pool, but the facility was really a pool with sauna and steam room Would definitely stay there again
