Fantastic stay. Very clean and comfortable. Staff have been great. Had a lovely break, would highly recommend and will be back again when we come back to Edinburgh.

Beautiful hotel, with lovely rooms in a great location. Lots of cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. Friendly helpful staff. Will defo stay again

What a total disappointment this hotel was. We had asked for a high room after reading reviews of the basement rooms and on check in the very polite young lady told us we had a very nice room on the second floor in no 6 which was along the terrace. We had booked a Townhouse Grand. The room was a huge disappointment. The bathroom was actually a cupboard with a toilet, very small sink (that did not drain properly) and a very small shower cubicle. Stuck to the floor of the shower was very grubby peeling non slip tape and the ceiling above had black mould on it. Worst of all as the cubicle was so small I could not use the overhead shower as I did not want to wash my hair. I switched on the hand held shower that promptly fell off its broken holder with the force of the water and landed on my toe. I had a very painful toe and a black toe nail as a result. The furniture was shabby and cheap and the decor was very shabby. If this was ‘a very nice room’ I can’t imagine what a bad one would be like. Breakfast was ok and the staff serving were attentive. We mentioned the shower incident as I limped in to the hotel and were told the member of staff we spoke to would advise management……??. Staying in no6 was very odd. It felt more like staying in a house and we had to put coats on to go for breakfast as the only route to the main building is by coming out on to the street. Not great when the weather is bad. Parking around the area is dreadful and the hotel do not have parking permits. I would not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful weekend, the hotel is located perfectly as its around a 15 minute walk into the city so out of the way of the main hussle. Room was lovely, had the jacuzzi suite which was fantastic after a days walking. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel. For a little city break with family or friends, or even as a solo i couldn’t recommend more than to come to this hotel. It’s slap bang in the middle of everything you need no matter which direction you go all within walking distance especially if your like me and family who love to walk. The food was lovely. Haven’t tried the dinner service (but heard it was really good!) The breakfast was spot on every morning whether it was the buffet or off the menu, even whipped us up some sandwiches the night before as we had to leave early for a trip the next day and couldn’t make breakfast. All the staff were exceptional, welcoming and friendly especially the two lads we mainly saw who worked the front desk and one at the bar of a night (never got their names) always answered our questions and very chatty which creates a good environment with any guest. The rooms were good, as we were always out the whole day on tours or just walking around Edinburgh we didn’t book the better rooms they have as there was no need. But still a good room to come back to and sleep in after being out all day Overall 10/10 accommodations and if i ever come back to Edinburgh we wont hesitate to book this hotel again
