Booked this hotel around 10 months ago for our first Hogmanay trip to Edinburgh. A couple of months ago I received an email stating that the booking was cancelled as the hotel would be closed. This was a total lie as the hotel is clearly still open and accepting bookings. When I looked at rebooking, the same room was then showing at around £500 more for the duration of the trip (obviously, as it was a late booking by then) so it was very apparent that the booking had been cancelled as they did not want to honour the rate I had secured with my early booking. I always book my trips well in advance to ensure I get the best hotels at the best prices so I would never leave it that late to book a trip to Edinburgh at their busiest time of year. Subsequently, we had to cancel our entire trip, which meant losing the money spent on the trains and various other things we had paid deposits for. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from what I had thought was a reputable brand. I will never book any of the Roseate hotels again.

What a terrible experience- a family Christmas lunch in private dining for 30 was the worst ever meal we had - really worried about food poisoning as well as not getting what we wanted for several hours - staff were totally clueless although to be fair they tried hard and there was no one senior on site to make things right - we paid a fortune for a total disaster - be aware!!

Excellent experience. The staff, specifically Alexander and Zoltan, made this one of the best trips I have ever taken. The staff was attentive to every request and made sure that my stay was memorable. The accommodations were excellent. I want to return to Scotland based on my experience and return to the Roseate. Thank you Roseate team for an excellent experience.

Superb - absolutely worth the 10min walk from Haymarket. I’m in Edinburgh on business 2 or 3 times a year and usually stay in one of the big chains around Haymarket/EICC. This time, I couldn’t get anywhere so opted for a little further west at the Roseate - and, my goodness, I was not disappointed. Superbly attentive staff, exceptional food and a beautiful, historic, stylish and comfortable room for some significantly less than I’d pay for a bland corporate room in town. Best of all, no city centre noise to keep you up at night yet only 10mins on foot from Haymarket station. To quote, Arnie - I’ll be back!

The Hotel staff were very pleasant and could not do enough for you. Alexander stood out to us as a great host. We started in room 112 but due to a weak shower and a couple of other bits we were moved across the road to room 203 which was lovely, plenty of space and an amazing shower. The breakfasts were lovely and set us up for the day. Our first taste of haggis, which we are both a fan of. The afternoon tea was lovely, if I could mention an improvement, it would be to label or have a menu left with the sandwiches and desserts as we didn't know what they were. The hotel smells amazing when you walk in. The warm friendly welcome also. The beds are most comfortable we have slept in with the best pillows too. We did walk into the city, but also the hotel called us a taxi usually around £10 for the 2 mile trip. Would we stay again, most definitely.
