Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

Lovely hotel and ideally placed just a little bit expensive for what it is but that might just be Edinburgh in general. Breakfast was good, amazing bread which is baked in house. Wanted to take the whole loaf!

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh delivered exactly what I expected—edgy, glam, and full of personality. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was spot-on: stylish but welcoming, with an energy that felt both modern and rooted in the city’s character. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, but what truly sets this hotel apart is its unbeatable location and stellar service. Every staff member I interacted with—from the concierge and front desk to bartenders and servers—was kind, professional, and genuinely warm. You really feel looked after here. Afternoon tea at the Commons Club was a particular highlight—beautifully presented, delicious, and relaxed in all the right ways. If you're looking for a stay that’s both comfortable and cool, with service that shines and a location that puts Edinburgh at your feet, this is a fantastic choice.

Fabulous hotel with excellent service and friendly staff. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in!

We reserved a room with a Castle View which was fantastic. It was clean and comfortable, and roomy enough. It included a bar set up and a mini fridge for convenience. There were various sitting areas with lots of books and things to explore. This hotel is on Victoria St. which is is very close to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Since I cannot walk far, it was a plus for us that it is halfway down the Royal Mile in a perfect location. It is also within walking distance of quite a few great restaurants. We were really happy with both the service we received from the staff ( Reception and Concierge) and their friendly attitudes and conversation, even thought they were busy. They were so helpful with all of our questions and travel arrangements. A glass of Prosecco was a nice touch when checking in! We stayed for 3 nights, took a Viator trip, and then returned for one night. When we returned for the last night, we were upgraded to Sir Richards flat which was such a surprise and amazing to stay in! Love the thoughtfulness of the staff in making sure we hag a great time! Can't give enough compliments to the staff - including waiters in the restaurant. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and have a great dining experience.. This was our first stay at a Virgin hotel - We will definitely stay at Virgin Hotels again!

Nice hotel, shame about the view- we were staying in a Grand Chamber and had a view of Scaffolding! Check that you are not staying in one of these rooms- check at reception. Terrible experience
